wanna hear another out there concept I was thinking of? this happened in NY, correct? what if this were someone in on not wanting the Nets in Brooklyn? a far, far, far stretch, but hey, you never know. let the conspiries continue!!
 
and well to add to all of this, what if Kidd did do this, and doesnt really have an achy back? just an excuse to try and deal with the problem. you never know it could just be a cover up of why he is missing practice.</p>
 
I was laughing watching Nets Magazine on YES. They were showing the segment where the writers/reporters had their contest a month or so ago, and the girl who's in the studio with YES was being taped by Kidd. The "Kidd Cam" was focusing on her, and he was taunting her and at one point I believe he said "let me zoom in on that". I thought of this thread and started cracking up

I HOPE you're kidding (no pun intendended). As more details emerged this morning (Kidd allegedly "asking" the woman who she thought would win if they got in a fight, bouncers intervening), the stench of this event is getting stronger and stronger and the likelihood of truth greater. I never liked the guy, going back to him punching his wife and spitting food on her (no matter how crazy she is). But I didn't even know about the assault on the woman (a total stranger) at a frat party when he was in college until last year, conveniently swept under the rug for most of his NBA career.</p>

If evidence emerges to substantiate this latest allegation, it's going to be impossible for me to really root for this team as long as he's on it. In that event, I hope they ship his a$$ to LA to play with king of mysoginistic abusers. Should make them both happy. Maybe the Lakers can also deal for Ruben Patterson, and the guys can all go out and beat up/gang rape women for fun after games.</p>

I don't know for sure whether he would or not, as I do not know the man. I do know that there is certainly no REASON to think he would do anything like that, unlike Kidd. Vince is 30 years old and has been a highly successful athlete with an active "social" life for many years. No woman has ever accused him of raping her, grabbing her crotch as an act of perosonal introduction or public humiliation/intimidation, or hitting her, threatening to beat her up, pouring beer over her head, forcing a nanny to perform oral sex, or any of the other vile things that the other men I mentioned have done. As it stands, Kidd has ADMITTED to beating his wife on at least one occasion (and such events are almost never isolated in reality), and, as a college student, he physically assaulted a woman at a frat party who had done absolutely nothing to provoke him, an attack corroborated by numerous witnesses who didn't even know the victim and had no reason to lie. Those two events alone suggest that groping a woman's crotch in public is not beyond his personal moral boundaries.</p>

On the other hand, there is NOTHING in Vince's public background to suggest that such offensive and criminal behavior is within his own character. So stick to defending the other criminals -- I mean athletes -- and save your attempts to sully Vince's reputation for when he actually does something to deserve it.</p>

I've thought about this for a while and I've come to the conclusion that I don't give a fuck.</p>

I don't need role model. I don't have kids and I don't give a rats ass about the younger generation, not yet anyway.</p>

Kidd is a great basketball player and thats all I care about. I know its pretty fucked up but thats where I am right now.</p>
 
No player in the NBA has as big a range from being so fun to watch play to being an utter toerag off the court. Unless the Nets find an elite point guard to replace him, I try to not think about it, and when he's off the Nets, I won't have to anymore.</p>
 
I can imagine that certain players may sexually assualt women, but Kidd doesn't seem to be of that nature. To me it looks as if she's just looking to gain money out of this. Despite not doing anything, Kidd might just pay her off so she shuts up about this so-called "incident".</p>
 
Actually Kidd has a history of incidents with women (although this is the first of groping).</p>

Regardless I think thats a moot point; neither of us have heard the complete story yet.</p>
