NYPost expose on Jody Allen's toxic behavior

‘Toxic’ Trail Blazers owner Jody Allen should sell team, say insiders - if by "insiders" you mean billionaires who want to buy the team. haha

I want her to sell the team but who couldn't be accused of toxic behavior? This is Phil Knight and comp using their resources to try to put some pressure on her.

1. Larry Miller quotes are straight from Phil Knight.
2. What does Dame want to talk to Jody about? What the hell is Bert Kolde's role even?
3. NY Post? Is this coming from the league offices in NY? Someone want to keep on defending the local media for not getting any stories?
4. We knew of the other stuff about Jody before (harassment/smuggling/etc).
5. Is it possible Silver pushes her out like he did Sterling?

A Larry Miller opinion piece, essentially? Don't want to discredit anything in the story with that. Just weird he's so prominently quoted, and nobody else.

The New York Post should double down on what it is good at, discussing Rats carrying Pizza in the subway.

No disrespect, but when we lived in NYC we, and most everyone we knew, regarded them as a national enquirer that tries to look more respectable...

Man, this is so thin. Like someone had a conversation with Miller and then decided to expand it into a hit piece on Jody with little to go with. So we're rehashing stuff from nearly a decade ago, blaming some of Neil's behavior on Jody, and citing an allegedly "highly-placed" anonymous source.

I'm sorry, this feels like a complete nothing-burger.

The fact that there's nothing in this "article" in relation to the Seahawks speaks volumes about its credibility.

“Damian wanted to sit down and have a conversation with Jody about the team and she didn’t return his call. Then he tried to email her. Eventually she just never responded and put him in touch with Bert,” the source alleged. “When you own a team, there are critical key decisions to make and you should be the one involved in making the decisions.”

This is the only interesting tidbit in the article. Everything else is just fluff.

Yeah. Curious if someone credible can corroborate this story.

This is the Knicks trying to push the Dame wants out narrative ...last year it was the Lakers...nice try...I'm sure they want to spin Dame and KD as the future of the Knicks. Dame is in daily contact with Chauncey and Joe so I don't think anything is being kept from Dame...total hatchet job....landmine journalism.

If this part is true, that's worrisome. But "giraffe bones" suggest they have nothing on her. I mean, giraffe bones? Even I know about it. I don't think journalism ever been so low.

Having lived in new york, i concur with this sentiment.

That's fine with me, I want the team sold and her and Bert out of the picture

It's bad press but besides the allegation that she won't correspond with Dame these are all very old stories being rehashed. We all should have known about the smuggling controversy, we all should have known about the security being harrassed and the "toxic work environment" piece seems like they're holding her resposible for Neil's behavior which if they can prove she knew about it for a long time until she wanted to fire him it could be something but that's a stretch. The Post is a rag, I am quite sure this story was bought and paid for. It's no coincidence that it comes directly after her statement or her statement came directly before the article.

Despite all of that it is bad press. The Dame thing needs to be looked into. I just wish she'd sell the team to the Knights.

Jody turns down Phil knight's offer then Dame starts posting about loyalty having limits...

Dame has said he talks to Jody..
And now you know why Jody released that statement the other day...

this might get ugly... ugh

The Dame stuff is especially disappointing.
I thought you wanted respectable journalism? Then you link the NY Post? Do you actually believe this story? It has nothing to do with why Jody released her statement but it does reek of Knicks buying a fake news piece to stir up the Dame lobby.

Nike probably paid, via a PR Firm, the Post to write this. It happens more than you realize, even with major media outlets.

My take on this:

  1. Larry Miller quotes are obviously pro Nike for a reason. The fact that the NY Post doesn't mention he worked for Nike is telling.
  2. The NY Post is far from reliable
  3. All the stories are believable
  4. I still want Jody and the Vulcans gone. Phil buying the team would be an A+ move.
  5. You take Dame's calls, even if he just wants to shoot the shit.

The saddest part about the NY Post is that it is still better than the NY Times.
