Lame duck? :dunno:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/may/16/obama-budget-defeated-99-0-senate/

President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.

Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

Republicans forced the vote by offering the president's plan on the Senate floor.

Democrats disputed that it was actually the president's plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn't actually match Mr. Obama's budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president's numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.

"A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office," Mr. Sessions said of the unanimous opposition.

The White House has held its proposal out as a "balanced approach" to beginning to rein in deficits. It calls for tax increases to begin to offset higher spending, and would begin to level off debt as a percentage of the economy by 2022. It would produce $6.4 trillion in new deficits over that time.

By contrast the chief Republican alternative from the House GOP would notch just $3.1 trillion in deficits, and three Senate Republican alternatives would all come in below $2 trillion.

The Senate is holding votes Wednesday on Mr. Obama's budget, the House GOP's budget and the three Senate Republican alternatives. None was expected to gain the 50 votes needed to pass the chamber.

sweet, he pitched TWO perfect games!

I'm not sure why anyone cares what Dick Morris thinks, predicts, or says.

Last Presidential cycle he predicted it was going to be Rudy vs Hilary. Pretty much everything the toe sucker predicts turns out just the opposite, so in a way he's a useful barometer.

STOMP

The Washington Times again. The first sentence shows the slant with the word "embarrassing." When will you guys learn to use propaganda, even Fox, which is more credible than a paper owned by the Moonies, the world's weirdest religion from South Korea?

So are you saying the vote was not 99-0?

You want a 99% consensus on something? If liberals and conservatives ever unify on the matter of civil liberties and freedom, this country will lurch away from 1984. Drones have already been distributed to police and await Congress to make them legal.

Congress is currently working alongside defense contractors, the Federal Aviation Administration and local law enforcement agencies across the country, among others, to draft plans to put unmanned aerial aircraft into US sky in the near future. The FAA believes that, at this rate, 30,000 small, remote-controlled drones could be above the homes of every American...Local law enforcement agencies already have drones at their disposal ready to be used as soon as Congress and the FAA can figure out how to use the crafts without disrupting air traffic.

The Chief Deputy (who is #2 under the Sheriff) of a county with 460,000 population in suburban Houston, wants to arm their drone to shoot people from the air with rubber bullets. You know what the next step will be.

1. The vote was not on Obama's budget. It was on a proposal by the Republicans, so in all actuality it was the Republican party who got shutout.

2. Dick who?

3. I'm surprised the inevitable issue of drones being shot down willy-nilly in self-defense by citizens as they trespass onto private property has not yet been debated.

Denny was with the 1%ers and didn't even know it.

Republicans were defeated? LOL, talk about spin.

300,000,000 Americans divided by 30,000 drones equals 10,000 people per drone.

Metropolitan Portland-Vancouver WA (counties of Clark, Clackamas, Multnomah, Columbia, Washington, Yamhill, and Skamania) has 2.2 million people.

Say hello to 2200 drones! Smile and say Cheese!

30,000 drones at $300K each. A program only govt. can afford since we overfeed it.

That multiplies to $10B, although I think the $300K ones are the Cadillac ones by police standards.

The surprise is that these are already delivered, or being shipped, to all police departments before the FAA and Congress agree on how to manage this great increase in air traffic.

None of you drone bees caught it? 2.2 million divided by 10,000 equals 220.

I woke up and my dreams were telling me to correct it. This is like my working years. My head swam in numbers.

I only make a few mistakes. Business owners LOVE finding out they lost money, then, April Fools! I am such a card!

Rest easy, drone brains! Only 220 will fly over your backyard barbeques!

mark zuckerberg lost 1.87 billion dollars today, i blame obama

The US lost over 4+ billion dollars today, because that's how much Obama spends everyday. :)

But don't worry, I'm sure the new 75% marginal tax rate in France will make the market feel a lot better.

all the rich people should move to antarctica, the free market enabling low tax rate there promotes the entrepreneurial spirit

It was a duplicate of the last Obama budget that got voted down 99-0 by the Senate, and 435-0 in the House.

Obama doesn't have a serious budget, and hasn't had one passed as President other than a continuing resolution, yet he lectures us all on fiscal responsibility and criticizes Paul Ryan and others for trying to rein in spending.

The budget/economy is a loser for Obama, as it should be. You Obama supporters should stick to Mitt's Magic Mormon Underpants, and other slime, because that's the only way Obama can win this fall.

No new itemized budget in three years, yet with exploding deficits and also the debt, is such a complete failure. Thankfully for Obama, the major media is completely in the tank for him. Imagine if Bush had doubled the national debt, tripled annual deficits, and not had a budget passed during his first term. I doubt he'd be running for re-election, because the media would have been pounding him for such a failure in leadership.

That would turn Antarctica into a superpower within 30 years, while the US would have roaming herds of bison and people living off the land again.

mitts magical mormon underpants has a nice ring to it actually

who are you voting for papag?

living off the land, as if thats a bad thing? used to be you could put in 40 hours a week and then feed and house yourself at the end of it

I personally like Switzerland, although Singapore is pretty decent. ;)
