Obama: I Reversed Recession Until 'Bad Luck' Hit

I appreciate the fact that you have no fear exposing your lack of knowledge on the subject.

You're exactly right. I have no idea why we should be ashamed of American culture. Please enlighten me.

No, you first. Why should I be ashamed of not ever "experiencing the real world," when the real world you're referring to is American business culture? Is it not?

Oh, and you may notice that I never said you should be ashamed American culture at all. This is just something your hilarious self cooked up while trying to avoid my point. So let's go over my point again:

1. Saying that grad students of the humanities haven't experienced "the real world" is saying that "the real world" is only attributable to what is commonly thought to be the "opposite" of higher education: getting a job. However, this is obviously wrong, as most American grad students, including myself, have worked multiple jobs. It's the business culture of American capitalism that is "real" here, while everything else must be "false."

2. The western industrialized nations are not the entire world. America is even less so. Our way of life is the minority. And if you think that is some kind of liberal arts drivel, please get eaten by a volcano. It is fact.

3. I have taken the time to experience how the majority of humans beings on the planet live by traveling and living in (heavy air quotes) "less developed" countries. Countries which are, you know, also in the world.

This is already way too much explanation because I was trolling and you were being a douche in return.

The Department of Failed Ideas

The Obama administration is finally going to focus on jobs -- again. Jobs, jobs, jobs. And nothing says jobs like food stamps, unemployment insurance and a shiny new federal department of ... yes, jobs!

Some of you may find President Barack Obama's three-day campaign bus tour through Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois a considerable downer. Not that it's the president's fault. If it weren't for Japanese earthquakes, unpatriotic Republicans, Arab springs, European welfare states collapsing, market fluctuations, Lady Luck's being a complete witch -- you know, existence -- this mess could have been squared away months ago.

The problem," Obama continued, "is that we've got the kind of partisan brinksmanship that is willing to put party ahead of country, that is more interested in seeing their political opponents lose than seeing the country win. Nowhere was that more evident than in this recent debt ceiling debacle."
What a load of crap. Obama has to be one of the most dishonest presidents we've ever had.

The people in Congress opposed to raising the debt limit--many of them first-term Republicans--are trying to save this country from an overwhelming debt burden that future generations will never be able to repay. They were elected to help bring financial accountability to government and get this country back on a solid financial footing. What they are doing is the RIGHT thing for the country, not their party.

Obama and his ilk are the ones who don't have a clue, or don't care, about the financial straits they are putting us in.

You'd be more believable if we didn't know that you were a HUGE Bush supporter, and didn't make even the slightest peep as he ratcheted up the deficit.

I made plenty of peeps about it. You wouldn't know, of course, because you can't actually listen to my conversations with the people in my life.

As a matter of fact, Bush didn't veto a single spending bill while he was president--something that pissed me off at the time, and which still makes me angry. He certainly contributed to the mess we are in. However, his spending is dwarfed by Obama's, which surpasses the spending of all previous administrations combined.

I see. You vociferously defended him here, but in real life you were highly critical. Sure, I believe you.

Get a clue. I defended him on the war and other issues, but I never defended his refusal to veto spending bills.

Uh huh. Show me a post from you pre-2009 where you suggest that Bush is anything less than Jesus.

...again, most all of you are getting lost in the false right vs left paradigm. Debt will NEVER be re-paid irregardless of what "solutions" are agreed upon, that is what happens when money is created out of debt. Does anyone understand our monetary policy and money supply? Or does everyone just like to banter across the aisle? At what point do you realize that the privately owned and unregulated Federal Reserve acts in its own best interest and not in the best interest of the US and its people? It is a mathematical fact that this problem is only going to get worse until fractional-reserve banking is forbidden and the US Congress/Treasury prints, creates, and controls its own money supply. Anything else will just be delaying the inevitable & designed collapse of the dollar and the US economy [not to mention the fall-out this will cause around the globe]. And please don't be fooled when the IMF and World Bank present their "solutions" for new currency...if any of you want to restore America, then you should demand that your Congress and Treasury repeal the Federal Reserve Act and take back the control of our money supply and put an end to the madness caused by these off-shore robber barons once and for all!

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." ~Thomas Jefferson

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it's issuance". ~James Madison

"If Congress has the right [it doesn't] to issue paper money [currency], it was given to them to be used by...[the government] and not to be delegated to individuals or corporations" ~Andrew Jackson

"Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce." ~James A. Garfield

"It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." ~Henry Ford
