Greta,

I just voted in your poll about Obama looking weak or strong after Putin stepping in over Chemical weapons in Syria.

I posted this comment in an online forum in a thread about the Syrian question a couple days ago;

The conflict in Syria seems to be the rebels want to make the area Sunni. In direct response to your question, I don't know! Does Barrak favor Shite or Sunni? He bowed deeply to the Saudi King if that is any clue. Remember, he doesn't want to take Assad out, just to the woodshed.

But it sure seem this red line save face is a crock. If that is all there is to it
why doesn't Barrack use his super diplomacy skills and ask Putin to take control of the cache in Syria. Shazam! World saved!

Well, I guess the President didn't ask but President Putin just stepped in and did what seems to me what should have been the wishes of the International community.
Super! Now President Obama does not have to order our warriors into action again, one more time without clear objectives.

However, I have read before that War is just the failure of diplomacy. And if that is true, the President doesn't really look weak, he looks ridiculous since the was
asking Congress to authorize war when he had not exhausted diplomacy. Hell he didn't ask Putin as I suggested above, as far as I now Putin step in and thwarted
a dumb, real dumb decision by Obama to go to war over a foolish decision to draw a red line that should have be drawn by the International community. President
Obama could have wisely lead that effort and used Mr. Putin as a tool but he didn't. Now he looks like a tool and he also looks as if he does not know who is using
him as a tool.. .

I would have sent one to Rachel but she ain't running any Barry polls.

America is a funny place. Where conservatives would rather bash on their president and ride the nuts of a Russian ex-CCCP Czar.

Seems the ex CCCP Czar made Obama look more foolish than usual.

It seems to me the agreement between Syria & Russia is a way to use chemical weapons on ones citizenry and then laugh about it. Which is what they are doing.

I don't give a damn about the Syrians or Ruskies. Using chemical weapons is an offense against humanity and strikes are not only long overdue, but need to be painful. I support Obama in this one.

And it Putin doesn't like it, there's an old russian saying- 'that's just tough shitski, commrade'.

Good to know you and your ilk stood proudly behind President Bush.

And the only one riding the nuts of the ex-KGBer is President Obama, looking to be saved by this thug from a humiliating loss.

What, exactly, are you supporting? Dropping a couple of cruise missiles to look tough? Either do it right or don't do it at all. I have no interest in talking about a strike for weeks so they can disperse their vulnerable targets and then making sure it's "extremely small".

Welcome to the world where America is in retreat. This world is the one for which we voted, so we're getting what we deserve.

That's funny, I thought it was John Kerry who jokingly brought up the idea.

That's funny, Obama's Chief of Staff became Secy. of Treasury and his new Chief of Staff was a national security advisor. Given the Chief of Staff's job is to twist arms and get legislation passed in congress, what is Obama thinking of passing?

A few cruise missiles won't be "painful," they'll barely register as anything more than minor annoyance in a conflict where 100,000 have died already. So unless you're prepared to plunge this country fully into another disastrous civil war where there's no direct national security threat, where we're not even sure who our allies are and there is no winning condition maybe you should curb the jingoism and moral outrage.
