I was paying a little more than $1100 a month to cover my husband and I through the SAG-AFTRA health plan. Now, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, we are only paying $161 a month total! For both of us! Obama came out in support of my marriage, ended DADT, caught Bin Laddn, ended war in Iraq, and got me affordable health insurance! Best. President. Ever.

Glad to hear you are pleased. My company dropped my wife and I due to the tax levied on self insured employers. I have to figure that was the intent of the tax.
Damn! Worked 40 years for that too. Shazam! all gone by the work of a President who supports you and some one else.

Well, now you know where the redistribution occurred. :MARIS61:

Seems to me you are perhaps pointing fingers in the wrong direction. Your company didn't have to drop you. They chose to, of their own free will.

Doesn't sound like your company supports you

That can't make you feel good

So you're the one! Bragging about receiving subsidies seems a bit odd to me, but to each their own. I assume you and your husband file your taxes jointly? Or, are you gaming the system by having you be the primary, and taking away needed money from those less fortunate than you. Seems a bit messed up that a guy who can afford to follow the Blazers around the country also qualifies for federal subsidies, not only for himself, but also for his wealthy spouse. :dunno:

His boss probably read his views against paying even a minimum wage for ranchhands, and figured he'd understand.

No reason to pay him any more than wetbacks get.

Of course they did, hardly any other way to avoid the new tax.
But then why else would the tax be imposed? Surely no one expected it to produce revenue.

I expected it. The new tax was ridiculous. When Obama said, " If you like your health care, you can keep your health care" I knew he was a lying ass. The new tax was intended
to end the benefit.

So, you're cool with me subsidizing your healthcare?

Why not? It seems Marzul's greedy company cut him off over 160 bucks or so.Damn businesses always screwing people over for mere peanuts.
I can't imagine it was really thousands of dollars that are supposed to cover Kingspeed's windfall. No way, right?

Then again, if Obama were a chef at a vegas buffet and replaced everyone's favorite foods with only MY favorites I'd probably like him too.

Oh, and the other 500 million Americans converting from some screen actors guild thingie can probably expect the same???

It was pretty big bucks when you consider they were covering nearly 400,000 retired people and their spouses. Many other Companies did the same as well as just drop spouses.
I imagine we will see regular employees taking the hit before long. Probably millions of them.

This makes for an interesting poll . . . with tax deadline coming up, who has been affected by Obamacare?

I have someone do my taxes for me, but I don't think it has any financial impact on me personally.

We know about KS and MA . . . others?

(MA I think it's time you expose this company that dropped 400,000 policies in the name of Obamacare. They either need to get called out and justify it (which would make Obama look worse on all this) or own up to the fact they are screwing you)

Hell it's been in the news for 6 months. Wait until the next batch begin, the regular employees.

You're not subsidizing anyone's healthcare. You're subsidizing the narcissistic lifestyle of the 1%.
I subsidize the 1 percenters every time I pay my insane cable bill or cell phone bill. I was dragged to one of those gimmicky swap meet "liquidations" a few years ago and saw filthy poor people trying to finance junk jewelry that was marked up 500 percent before it was advertised as 70 percent off.

These people didn't need that crap and they were probably happy as hell when they got home with their trinkets. We all do that to some extent in this country. The 99 percent of us have it pretty damn good.

I don't have a wealthy spouse. Where did you get that idea? And I'm not rich. I just make Blazers a priority. Leaving LA this month because we can't afford rent. Headed back to NYC.

Haven't heard about it, but I'm not a big news guy. Personally, Obamacare hasn't seemed to pierce my own little bubble of life as I haven't really run into anyone who has been affected by it. But I'm sure it is negatively affecting people out there and think it absolutely sucks what happened to you. I hope you can afford health insurance because I believe everyone should have health insurance.
