Occupy Wall Street

According to me.

They don't "come", they simply exist as a part of life.

Better to ask "where have they gone?".

Is the right to kill another an absolute right?

The right to use firearms?

The right to take the entirety of something from a co-owner if, by splitting the property, one would destroy its value?

I guess I could have just stopped at the "according to me" part. That rendered your line of thinking indefensible.

No kidding. If everybody had absolute rights, the result would be nothing but pure chaos....violence...anarchy....misery.....

Hey MARIS, if I ever make it to Prineville, do I have the right to camp out on your front lawn with hundreds of others?

So long as you can get past the fence and dogs at his compound.

There's an absolute right for dogs to eat people.

I don't live anywhere near Prineville, but you have the right to try.

Only if you assume the worst of people.

If everyone simply lived by The Golden Rule there'd be no need for Congress, laws, police, armies, or high taxes.

Like it or not, we already do live by the golden rule. "Whoever has the gold makes the rules."

sad that with 16 years of schooling she's still in need of spellcheck for words utilizing the "I before E, except after C" rule.

Additionally, why the hell do you go 40k in debt for a degree in a field in which there are no jobs?

I am the 50%. The half that pays taxes.

You didn't read it very carefully. She said she's 40K in debt, and a college senior. She didn't say anything about borrowing to pay for college.

I'll amend.

"why the hell do you go 40k in debt while getting a degree in a field in which there are no jobs?"

Those prostitution lessons cost $40,000. Look at her. She must have paid a lot to be able to threaten the world with selling her scrawny body.

Well, technically, she didn't say she went 40K in debt while getting her degree. She might have been $140k in debt when she started college.

My guess is that she owes her drug dealer $40k, and he's giving her a choice of how she wants to work off the debt.

i saw that in Pretty Woman. That's awfully nice of the drug dealer.

Drug dealers are the nicest people, once you get to know them.

I could have assumed you had taken the time to do just that, Garth.

though she should have access to a google machine...or a high school counselor...or the state unemployment agency.

They're not clairvoyant either.

Other than gun-for-hire (military) pretty much any job field requiring a degree has far fewer positions than qualified applicants.

Back when she started college the picture was much rosier for everybody.

BTW, illegal aliens hold currently 8 million US jobs, many of them municipal government jobs, while 8 million legal immigrants and natural-born Americans lose their homes and/or die due to lack of income for health insurance, shelter, and food.

With only 13 million people unemployed in the whole nation it is easy to see both the primary cause of our pain and also the road to economic recovery.

Simply take back the jobs that were stolen and jail the criminals (creating even more jobs).

Not true. STEM candidates are being imported because of the lack of qualified domestic candidates.

If they are being imported, that's just the cover story for hiring them, not the real reason.

Mainly it's because foreigners from certain countries will work for peanuts and let you abuse them.

There is no job in America for which there is no available qualified American to fill.

Not a single one.

We jail way too many people already. Jails are a really bad vehicle for job creation. We need to set free, or kill, about 3/4ths of the prison population.

Now that I think about it, there is a great way to raise revenue for the government: convict hunts. You set some convicts loose on a big ranch and collect big money from rich people for the privilege of shooting them and having their corpses taxidermied for the den.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Sorry.

Some of these guys here have been raised in the church basement. They think drug dealers are some stereotype they see in media propaganda.

Drug dealers are generally about 18, stoned, and far, far nicer than their conservative equivalent, e.g. the storeowner who sells things just as they do.

Nobody has squelched their speech. They can say what they want to say. They've said what they wanted to say, which isn't much.

And you're still confused. They've exercised their right to assembly. Maybe they should "assemble" on your front lawn and at your office.

He is confused, and this movement got knocked the F out. I love that the public has turned on these quacks.
