With all the hoopla going around regarding him and the possible "not starting" fiasco, the dude has really shown poise. Seriously, think about how young he is. I remembered when I was that young, thinking everything is owed to me, blaming others for mistakes I may have possibly made, and well being such a focus in the NBA.

I am proud that he took it upon himself to work so hard during this offseason to develop his game, stick with a solid diet and condition himself. Also, with the rumor he isn't starting, the kid didn't say a damn word publicly.

As a Die hard Blazer fan, I am proud to have him a Blazer. It really seems he is working hard to prove to all us fans, and fans of the game itself that he accepts any attention regardless of good or bad and comes packing a lunch.

Kudos Oden, you da man!

You guys obviously didn't listen to the Jazz announcers. He looked awful in Utah, and they let him have it. It was clear though that the Jazz announcers didn't see any of the boxscores from his previous playoff games.

Nevertheless, he sucked in Utah, and definitely showed he's still got some growing to go. Personally, I'm excited about watching it happen though.

What did go good in Utah?

Fuck Utah. When did those associated with the organization or their fans have anything to positive to say (outside of Sloan, that is). The analysts/writers are garbage (but Deron is Deron) and their fans cheer when opposing players are injured. So their analysts bagging on a division rivals' developing talent is not shocking and does nothing to deter my excitement in Oden's development.

Hispanic and Sly:

Do you guys have any class at all? I'm not even mormon, and yes, I live in Utah (am a PDX native) and your two posts are just low.

Sorry Elton. Didn't mean to offend.

You don't even know what you're talking about. I just went to the last game in full Blazer fan getup and was treated about as well as you could expect from fans of a division rival. Lots of compliments about the team actually.

I'm not a Jazz fan at all, but after living here a while (wife is from here) I've come to respect the organization a great deal.

It's cool guys. I have plenty of local humor I could share, but the jabs at the mormon thing just kinda gets old to me. Believe me, there are plenty of jokes to go around.

For the record, I much prefer the pacific NW, but Utah has a lot to like if you're an outdoors type, and if you ski...well, game over.

Hispanic:

Yeah, my studio is about 2 blocks from the ESA.

Please.... those weren't even real jabs.

I was just gonna say, whenever we are there we hit up the Red Iguana! Food there is amazing!

This. There are a lot worse things to say about Mormons.. and Utah is 60.4% Mormon and SLC is 50.6% (2008). The percentage is steadily decreasing every year, though.

Thats a lot of special Mormon underwear!

Sorry Elton. Didn't mean to offend.

Sorry man, didn;t mean to offend anybody. my mother in law is mormon and I'm sure she would think that was pretty funny though.

Good enough.

I have a few friends who are Mormons and from the jokes they make with me and between themselves about the Holy Underwear, this was rather tame.

Just wanted to apologize to anybody I offended on here earlier.

Man up!

Those mormon magic underwear that protect you from STD's, dark spirits, and bullets are HILARIOUS. No shame in that.

Please. You're must be an expert. Been to multiple games in SLC, with Blazers as opponents as well other teams as opponents. Seen a couple of games when Utah fans cheered injuries to opposing players. I've seen it mentioned in AP write-ups. It was heavily mentioned after Rockets fans were upset when Portland fans gave a standing ovation to Mutumbo (some Rockets fans were upset by the gesture, then several people mentioned Utah fans actually cheering when key players of opponents had been injured). I've also seen nondescript fans from other teams being heckled worse than an opponents' fan at an Oakland Raiders home game (and that's fucking brutal). My friend's father was a doctor for the team - he even said how brutal the organization and their fanbase was.

Not saying all Jazz fans are like that....but from my experiences, and from things I've seen and read through the media (even the organization and fans talked about being bullied by Portland over the Millsap thing)...cry me a fucking river. They bitch and moan and have this false sense of entitlement, and when a team comes in and tries to sign a free agent, they're somehow being bullied.

Glad your experiences have been different. But just as I'm not going to come here and tell you how fucking clueless you are, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't come here and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. My experiences are different than yours; that's all. Doesn't mean you're right, doesn't mean I'm right.

Wait, why would Rockets fans be upset that Portland showed a sign of support for Mutumbo when he got injured?

I read your sig and was trying to figure out when I said that.
