Oden is more important

The team needs Oden to be great to win a title. But they are still going to need Roy.

Oden can't create his own shot. Roy can. When the offense completely breaks down you need a guy who can make something happen.

Roy is that guy.

The team needs both (plus LMA) to play at a very high level to win a title. If that doesn't happen then any thoughts of Portland being a contender are out the window.

You need both to succeed. And LMA needs to be the ultimate 3rd option. But we already know Roy can score and he's already at a high level. Oden needs more burn before he can get to that level.

He did win a championship without Shaq.

Shaq had to gravytrain on Dwyane Wade's coattails for his 4th title.

Totally agree with this. Too much emphasis and effort put in to pleasing Roy and delegating minutes to roleplayers. Keeping roleplayers happy <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Oden developing.

Oden should be the #1 attention this season on the offensive end. The sooner we establish his low post dominance, the sooner the Blazers worry about what "ring size" they wear.
