False. He accepted the $1 million QUALIFIER so he could be a UFA the next summer. Plenty of teams were interested in him, as shown by the number of teams that reached out to him when he decided to return to basketball.

I still think you go through the motions as if you are going to keep him and want to keep him. And in the end show him you still would love to have him for the right price. Who knows, at that, he might of bit.

The team would have been in the same position financially had they let him walked as they were when they waived him. Except for the few extra dollars you would have paid him to stick around until the end of his contract.

As long as he was in the mix. That possibility was still a possibility. Papa G made a great point in one of his posts. He (if he could stay healthy) and LA together would have been nice. I just think they jumped the gun on such a move. I think the owner got on such a role that day and he had no one there to veto any of his decisions. And maybe he should have. The release of him didn't have to be done then. They could have let it play out.
