Thanks for the link. Appreciated.

Glad things are progressing with Greg. Would be cool if he could return for the playoffs - and have an impact - if only to douse all those naysayers.

No, I don't want him to come back this season! Get healthy, come back more then ready to go in October.

Oh well. I was hoping he'd be back for the playoffs, but it doesn't look like it. It does sound like his rehab is going well though and that's a good thing.

FINALLY!!! An article giving us some real information about Oden's surgery, and rehab. And it had to come from the Tribune - ha! Thanks Mr. Eggers.

My favorite part:
Will Oden’s knee return 100 percent healthy?

“Yes, no question,” Jensen says.

My thoughts exactly. Quick and Crapzano are too busy coming up with false conspiracy theories and soap opera stories regarding the Trail Blazers. The best fact and informative stuff comes from The Columbian (Brian Smith) and The Tribune.

So if a immensely strong quad muscle contraction ripped apart the bone, whats to stop it from happening again, and why did it happen in the first place? To my knowledge, muscles contractions just don't go off and cause bones to split in half...

My favorite part:

FALSE.

I've read on this here forum that Oden will not be healthy, is the next Bowie, and we should trade him for Jason Thompson.
:ohno:

I've wondered the same thing. If that really is what happened, how do you train your body not to do it again? Keep from building up muscle? Practice hard at being Greg Ostertag? That's got to be a real motivator for a franchise center.

Anyway, nice to see he's coming along. I'm reminded of one of my all-time favorite positive-spin quotes: "(Clipper's GM) Elgin Baylor is a veteran of the lottery process."

Well, Oden is a veteran of the major injury recovery process. FWIW.

oden knee will return to 100%....... until the next inJury in training camp lol

Was there ever any evidence or thought (from real doctors) that it might have had something to do with his previously chipped patella? Was it already weakened from the previous injury?

I've actually done something sorta similar, about a year and a half ago I was whacked in the back of head hard enough to cause my body to seize up completely. It was like 1-2 seconds of every muscle in my body contracting as hard as it could and when it was over I as just all tingly. About 20mins after that my left elbow had swelled up to the size of a softball and hurt like hell, and after going to the ER and my doctor it turned out that I cracked the base of my forearm (along with some soft tissue damage).

No trauma whatsoever to my arm other than that one really strong contraction, and I'm like 6ft 155-160 so my arms nowhere close to the strength of Oden's quad.

The Oregonian is a fucking embarrassment from top to bottom.

Is there still such a thing as playoff rosters that we need to fill out at the end of the regular season?

If so, can we put Greg on there, just in case he's ready some time in May?

you think he'll make it to training camp healthy? lol dont be a delusional homer. too much of that around here already lol

oh i think he will be great by camp.... its when he plays 10 games or more that i worry about

you think I enjoy people in OKC holding signs up saying "thank you blazers, we will take Kevin"

good times... while we see signs that say "get well greg"

woo hoo... gregs gonna be ready for camp!!! lets get some kool aid from maxie

oh i think he will be great by camp

youre being a homer. why are you being a homer? stop being a homer!

oden will NOT be healthy by training camp. the injury he suffered was to his knee and thta means his career is over. NOW. think centers needs their knees? lol.

Personally, I do think that. ;)

That's what I think. However, the Blazers medical staff will never admit to something like that. It's actually a best case scenario as you could logically assume that it won't happen again.

That has been my hope all along as well. Getting wacked in the knee cap last year as opossed to getting hurt jumping...... seems more likely to having it crack. (I agree it is a best case scenario)

Wear a big thick pillow of a fucking Knee pad from now on out!
