OT Oden preparing for yet another comeback

I don't but Cowens's take; when he played, Oden was a 24 PER player capable of 24/12 on a good night, with one year of college. That's not journeyman. That's exciting rookie with a ton of upside.

You can't separate Oden from his injuries because that defined his career. But the numbers from his first 82 games tell me Cowens is more interested in hot takes than thoughtful ones.

Oden's career PER is 18.7. He got stripped in the post constantly and couldn't stay out of foul trouble.

Did anyone see him try to run full court in Miami? ...the shuffle and gasp technique...

If Portland wasn't "black enough" for Greg....

He's going to have a baaaad time in China.

I guess when you drink your millions away and punch out your ex-girlfriend, you have to put up with more, like being around people that aren't like you, how awful!

It depends how one spends their time within the mainland. Personally, I thought it was a highly enjoyable experience and I would gladly do it again when the opportunity presents itself.

Even an out of shape injured Greg will average 50/30 over there!

How much do these guys make playing in China?
Read today that Shavlik Randolph(!!??!!??) just signed to play in China for 3 years for at least $4.5M!! The details were a bit confusing but it was for a shit load of money.....for Shavlik freakin' Randolph.....

old vaseline eating Marbury lit up Aaron Brooks in the finals game a few years ago and scored 50 pts..it's not the NBA by a long stretch but the perks are great

Slightly misleading, since it includes his broken down years.

2009-10, his PER was 23.1 before his injury. For Portland as a whole he was a 19.5 PER. Need I remind you Tex's career PER in Portland was 20.3, with no single season over 23 PER?

Oden was better than Tex. Tex is not a journeyman. Neither was Oden before he disintegrated.

We'll see how long he lasts in China...heard he's been taking powdered deer penis for his knees
