Just thought I'd take the time to note Oden's growth statistically from last season:

8.9 ppg ---> 11.3 ppg
7.0 rpg ---> 8.4 rpg
56.4 FG% ---> 64 FG%
63.7 FT% ---> 79.1 FT%
1.1 bpg ---> 2.3 bpg

It should be noted that he is only playing 2.9 mpg more than last season.

Go Greg!

I think the increase in free-throw shooting is probably most impressive. How often do you see a player raise their average by about 16 percentage points in one season? Kind of crazy actually.

Amazing what full health can do for you. This is actually his rookie year, by the standards of his injury. 2 years to fully recover.

Joel went from 37% to 68% from '06-7 to '07-8. That's the best I've ever seen - 31 percentage points.

Injury or not, this isn't his rookie year. He got to play 60+ games last season and get his feet wet against the best basketball players in the world. That was his rookie year.

Wasn't he also shooting free throws with his off hand for most of his college year? I'm sure there's a certain amount of recovery time from that, as well.

What sucks is that if Oden made those two FTs against Denver, we'd be 12-4 right now. Ah well.

Finally....a KS post I can get behind. Go Grizzeg!! The thing those who don't watch every Blazers game don't understand, is the impact Greg has that doesn't show up in the boxscore. It's the same impact Mutumbo had during his prime. He controlled the paint and even when he wasn't blocking shots, he was forcing bad shots. We're starting to see the results of what we were expecting when we drafted Greg.

True true. Calling it his rookie year is ridiculous. But even a guy that doesn't rely heavily on his athleticism (Z-Ho) was a much different player his first year back from "Teh Micro".

One of the things that disturbed me about Oden last year was that it was hard to say at the end of the season what he had improved on. This year, you can see concrete things practically by the week. And oh-hoh-hoh if the trend conues.

he shot 80% from the line his Sr year in HS... then he tore the tendons in the wrist of his shooting hand.

80% from the line just might be what to expect :ghoti:

Kingspeed you amaze me. How you can say how much Outlaw means to this ball club, chucking chucking chucking with no assists and his defense is so suspect, you don't even have to have a line-up on who's guilty. Yet here you are putting down Miller, saying he needs to be traded, when he publicly said he is fine with the role of coming off the bench. Then you give praise to Blake on 11 assists, with 1-11 shooting and bash on Oden.

I don't remember you being this bi-polar in O-live. What has changed?

That post just made no sense.

Blanky was 0-3
Outlaw was 1-8

Had either of them made 1 more shot, we would have won as well.

Stop putting this on Greg.

whatever wilt used to put up 60/30/10 all the time. oden should double that.

Yeah, but Wilt didn't have to play against hispanic players. Those numbers shouldn't count.

Haven't you given up on Greg as a player at least 10 or 12 times by now?
