Five of the seven games were noncompetitive bores. It went seven but was not a great series by any stretch.

...to be honest, when Blanco botched that ball in the 9th inning allowing Gordon to reach 3B, I was sure KC was going to end up winning the game.




...also, fwiw, if Sandoval does not resign with the Giants, I think he'll be in a Red Sox uniform next year.

...they tried to resign him earlier this year but he wanted $100 Mil...the Giants were offering about half that.

He made $8.2M this past year, I think 5 years @ $75M should get it done. JMO.

...true, but the only reason he got $8.2 Mil this year was because his 3 yrs/$17.15 Mil contract was back end loaded...his AAV was $5.72 Mil per year.

Although it was decided by 1 run in game 7, the Giants were clearly the better team.
THEY had/have the best SP (by far lol), and the better hitters.

Their weak offense reared it's ugly head and their undisciplined hitters chased more eye-high fastballs out of the strike-zone than I've ever seen in a WS.
They turned back into pumpkins just in time for Halloween


Not once did I hear Harold Reynolds or the rest of that crew criticize their hitters for constantly swinging at balls over their heads -
lmao....this the Major Leagues...a WS team!
Sure, they gave Bumgarner alot of credit for "going up the ladder" , but gimme a break, simple 92-93 MPH fastballs way up/out of the zone..... ...this was like taking candy from a baby.
Horrible approaches and amateurish at-bats.
I just can't envision hitters like Big Papi/Pedroia,.Trout/Pujols...constantly chasing pitches over their head.

This (KC) was a light hitting WC team which got on a historical post season roll but came up short in the WS. I though it would continue all the way....nope!

To make matters worse, we had to be insulted by watching possibly the two worst SP by far, for a WS game 7 in history.

Two wild card teams.

The LF also fumbled it a bit on the warning track and I was thinking Gordon may try and go all the way home. Then I saw the replay of him rounding 2nd and realized he isn't a fast runner and it would have to take a relay throw WAY OFF LINE for him to score...way off line.

Anyway, Perez was up next and and with Bumgarner pitching...it would only be two or three HIGH fastballs away from a SF win. lol

Makes you appreciate hitters like Wade Boggs, Carew...ect...more and more.
It's not only about their high BA...they don't chase bad pitches,
...they make good contact and put the ball in play.

There is no substitute for lineups loaded with patient hitters who work the count and put the ball in play with runners on base.

Gosh, I'm missing those Yankee, Redsox teams from a "few" years ago who would wear out pitching staffs and then clobber them.

I appreciate great pitching...I also appreciate good hitting disciplined lineups.

It was a little understandable, with a cinderella team that hasn't been to the big dance in 29 years while the Giants have been.

I didn't watch an inning, but I really wasn't enticed by anything other than hoping the Royals would be the giants... I wasn't impressed from what I was seeing online
