YOU have that type of money to gamble with, The HCP does not.

Okay how about this bet? If the Blazers average more than 52 rebounds a game; I think they are top 4 in the West. The bet will be $20?

BUT BUT BUT BUT WHAT IF WE AVERAGE 75 TURNOVERS TO GO WITH IT!?

Still wouldn't matter. There have been only a handful of teams to ever reach a +65 rebound average. One team did it for 5 years. Ironically, they won the championship all 5 years they did.

Did you guys see that Doc Rivers has ordered the Laker banners to be covered during their games at Staples and the Lakers.

Now Lakers are heated about it!

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers were mostly diplomatic when asked about the Los Angeles Clippers' new initiative, led by coach Doc Rivers, to cover up the Lakers' championship banners and retired uniforms during Clippers home games, but it didn't sit so well with L.A. native, and former Clipper, Nick Young.

"He can do that?" Young said after Lakers practice Sunday, the team's first since returning from China. "For real? That's disrespectful. We got to talk to Doc. He can't have that. We got to do something about that."

The Clippers put banners of seven of their players over the Lakers' 16 championship banners and 10 retired numbers during a preseason game Friday night.
The Clippers revealed their Staples Center redecoration during a preseason game Friday, as they plastered giant posters of players Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes, Jared Dudley and J.J. Redick over the Lakers' 16 championship banners and 10 retired uniforms.

"That's a lot of pull y'all are giving Doc," Young said, somewhat facetiously. "I think he shouldn't come in and have so much pull like that. He's got to earn his keep."

When a reporter argued that Rivers' championship resume from his time with the Boston Celtics should give the coach the credence to do so, Young retorted, "But he didn't win no title in L.A. That's where it's at. Look at all these banners in here, you can't shadow those up."

The Lakers and Clippers have shared the Staples Center since it opened for the 1999-2000 season, making them the only teams in the league to have such an arrangement.

"I guess if you were in the Clippers' organization you probably want to do that, too," Lakers point guard Steve Nash said. "It's their arena on their night, so I would try to make it feel like home."

When I saw them mention that at the Clipper game, I smiled. I would have done it too. Why would I want another team's banners up when I play? Can't wait for when the Clippers host the Lakers! It's going to be fun to watch!

Something that goes on down there, that some might have not noticed........When they built Staples the Lakers wanted this fancy ass theatre lighting set up that costed like $1M more than regular lighting other arenas have. The Clips said hell no, we aren't paying for that.

So they use that lighting for the Laker games and lock em up so the Clips can't use it.

Check out the difference in the lighting.........http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/1671

Wow, amazing stat. Exactly why I stated rebounding as the one improvement I wanted this year. Generally if you're picking up a lot of boards, you're also playing good D.

Steve Nash, much too classy to be a laker.

Interesting to find out why it was that way. I always noticed at the L@ker games you can't see the fans because the spot light on the court. Clippers look more like a college game lighting. I'm really not sure which I like better. It just makes the L@kers look more elitist.

On the one hand: why not cover up another team's banners?
On the other hand: why be such a fucking cheap franchise that you borrow another team's building? Donald Sterling is the real dick in this scenario.

Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes
Former #Blazers G Nolan Smith (@NdotSmitty) in 5 gms w/Croatian team: 17.6 pts, 2.8 rebs, 3.8 ast while shooting 60% from field & 50% 3-pt.

We should look into getting this guy :)

I'm sure they had someone look into the money side of this, but in L.A. they don't really have an alternative. Orange County was trying to lure them and likely would have built them their own stadium and identity--like the Angels and Ducks. But, Sterling said no. Maybe he had grand hopes to unseat the L@kers as the home team.

The Lakers don't own the Staples Center. The Lakers, Clippers and Kings all moved in at the same time.

Its hard not to like this guy:

Robin Lopez @eegabeeva88
So yeah I got dunked on by TRob last night just as I was going for the putback, gusee it's my lot in life :) #itsinmyjobdescription instagram.com/p/fvoVyiMOcJ/

I have 2 policies regarding LA teams, in priority order:

1. Fuck the L*kers and everything they do.

2. Fuck the Clippers.

It is great to have guys that look like they actually want the rebound. It is demoralizing to have half-assed effort toward rebounds and it seems like we had that a lot last year.

Now, if they could get Meyers to go after boards like that we'd be in business.

I can't fucking find who posted the bench being good that players aren't playing out of position; so in going to post a response here.

Maybe the dismal rebounding and terrible defense had more to do with too many roles for one player; confusing their assignments? I think we are going to have a vastly improved defense this season!

Asik/Howard together?

That's not going to work.

Asik, if not dunking, is the worst finisher in the game for a big.

Howard has no post-game.

Dirk just got tossed from the Rockets game for, i think, throwing a punch.

He'll be dealt, but I don't think they're in a rush to give him away. They'll wait until the right deal comes along. Daryl Morey ain't no fool!

Watching the Cavs vs Sixers right now. Royce White had about 3 nice plays in a row......then got kicked out for talking shit to the Cavs bench. #Nutjob

Such a sad waste of talent. That dude is certifiable.
