I wondered about this too when it was pointed out that he's not officially ours yet so Olshey is not going to even talk about him yet.

Plus, the "dipshit" call is unnecessary, and every regular here knows how you embarrassed yourself with the Barnes stuff last summer.

lol, Barnes played well for his rookie year....hell, half this board was advocating for him when rumors of GS making a play for LA came out....

Lamb is shit.

Kind of like Tualatin, right?

BTW, Mason Plumlee looks nice. Reminds me of Kris Humphries type.

You see that one spin move he threw down in the first half? Smooth as butter...

Both Plumlees have really been showing out so far... expected it from Mason, but maybe Miles also has a role in the league after all?

I'm also surprised how poorly Kabongo is doing. It looks like he might be punching his ticket to the D-League if he doesn't pick it up over the next few days.

Nolan Smith sighting! With the rest of the team, he high-fived the tired guys walking off the court at halftime. The Celtics are up 2. He is wearing civvies. Stern hasn't brought his dress code to Summer League. Nolan walked fine. I couldn't see his footware. Jonny Flynn is still a good playmaker and bad shooter.

The Celtics depend more on Olynik each game. The guards look for him underneath to bail them out and he takes the little pass and stuffs it. He's more predictable on set plays and the defense sees it coming and stops it. He has a long future in the NBA. The commentators (Kendall Gill plus a new guy) love him.

Olynyk should have "O'Linnick" on his Celtics jersey so's to please the Southies.

Oops, that was the end of the game, not halftime. I started an hour late and then it takes a few tries to get a somewhat legal free site to work. You've all been there.

Comcast will not get my money! Okay, on to the next game.

8:00 game: McMillan and Pritchard sitting together. Bird not next to them.

10:00 game Indiana vs OKC: Cheeks and Sheed on the bench. They are friends from Blazer days. Cheeks has learned not to smile during the game. A woman next to him was trying and acted puzzled that he wouldn't. Drummond needs a big man coach, frustrated making mistakes, despite high effort. He was better Sunday, kept pinning the ball on the backboard, intimidating layup artists. Today he keeps getting stuck out at the 3 point line with the ball as the shot clock expires. Sheed will teach him go-to moves.

Sunday I saw the first technical ever in Summer League, Kidd. Today in the 8:00 game the second, against bench of which team? Can't remember. In 10:00 game are 2 female, 1 male referees. Referees call quick techs if you embarrass them in regular games, but there are only about 100 spectators, mostly coaches/scouts. I wish they'd stop calling technicals.

S.

I used to watch Cheeks at the summer league games. He was a dick to all the fans.

I just watched the 4th quarter of the game. Reggie Jackson totally destroyed Detroit. Attacked the basket at will. (19 in the quarter) Drummond looked like he was playing in quick sand. Maybe he is still hurt?? His BB IQ does not appear to be high. .........

Detroit was ahead the whole game until Jackson showed why OKC let Maynor go. He had 35 points, 23 in the 4th quarter. The Orlando SL record had been 34. OKC won 79-75. Steven Adams was inconsequential, much less active than Olynik in the 8:00 game. Caldwell-Pope had 19 and Mitchell was good. But it was all Jackson at the end. Kevin McHale was there. Scotty Brooks was too.

Edit: Yes, Drummond was lousy today. I missed Monday, but on the weekend his defense was great. Maybe he faced better coaching today in Scott Brooks and whichever assistant was in charge.

That 4th quarter was a good example of why PG's are now so much more important than centers.
Drummond had no chance of stopping Jackson attack the rim. He tried to get over in time, but was just too slow. Of course in the 80's one of the bad boys from Detroit would fouled him so hard Jackson would have stopped trying. I am glad they have cleaned that part up.

Speaking of Bad Boys, Joe DuMars was there. Adams went 1 for 2 at 18-footers, but unlike Olynik, who has shot outside better and on the move, Adams needed 3 seconds to square himself facing the basket and carefully aim before releasing. Adams is a project and Olynik is ready now. I'm quitting for the day. Saturday, when the Blazers start, this thread will be hopping, hopefully.

Reggie Jackson did not exactly prove himself a PG in this game. He's their Harden replacement, not their backup PG. But yeah, he looked good. Wanna get depressed all over again?
21. Trail Blazers Nolan Smith SG
22. Nuggets Kenneth Faried PF
23. Rockets Nikola Mirotic SF
24. Thunder Reggie Jackson PG
25. Celtics Marshon Brooks SG
28. Bulls Norris Cole PG
29. Spurs Cory Joseph PG
30. Bulls Jimmy Butler SF

And here's the Drummond effect: Detroit has played 3 games. Drummond played in 2, which were very close. In the one he sat out, they lost by 30.

But yes, he is ridiculously raw. However, perhaps more worryingly for Detroit, so is Caldwell-Pope. And Siva is not an NBA player.

Olynyk is definitely the class of this league. He should be able to score in the real league, no problem. Very polished. But God Damn I hate the Fabio hair.

Lamb racking up fricken DNPCD's in Summer League. lol I love it

I wanted Lamb instead of Meyers.......what do I know?

Sent from my baller ass iPad FAMS!

Kendall Gill just said that Reggie Jackson will leave OKC in the next couple of years because he's too good to be a backup. Let's suppose that's true: maybe OKC could offer Westbrook to Detroit for Andre Drummond?

This final is fun! Young, the kid from Arkansas who worked out for the Blazers, is one of the no-names clawing the Rockets back into it.
