Haven't seen Gretchen Whitmer year, guessing she will introduce Harris tonight.

you don't have to buy into fear mongering...that's why we develop bullshit filters as we grow up. I see people as traffic lights...green, yellow and red....doesn't matter what the backdrop is. The Harris Walz campaign is a bright green light from my view. You're welcome to your own. I'm not selling anything, I just operate from my own powers of observation. Trump is a red light like I've never seen before....as I said...false equivalency to consider them equally bad intentioned. On the same token, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are green lights for me...people with a sense of integrity and truth. The worst possible candidate in American history is on the ballot. This is a fact and nobody should be watering his bullshit down. Of course the convention is to rally spirits unless it's the GOP...then it's to prophesize doom, hate and failure. This election is a stark contrast in common decency and empathy. Donnie tried to end democracy on Jan 6th and failed miserably to his own disgrace..history is not on Trump's side
I have faith that you can figure this out, I'm not sure the general public and those that are all in on either parties tickets can decipher this though! Also I don't think both parties are the same, if that's how it came off than my bad, but I do think these rah rah pep rallies, people reading off a teleprompter conventions are a waste of time.

One more time for the people in the back, I think Trump is a horrible human being whom I've never voted for and won't this November. I think Kamala disappeared at VP for 3+ years and I have yet to hear her give an honestly good answer to a question that isn't prepackaged. The original post was about the conventions and how these people are just telling you what you want to hear, nothing more. As Riverman said, put your BS meters up and cypher through all the crap they are flinging.

As long as it’s not Trump.

Honestly I don't give a shit what they're selling me on; what I hope is that the people in the arena are getting fired up because they're going to actually do the work. Most of us don't do any work for these politicians, we just complain and post on a tidepool of an internet forum. This stuff is not really for us. It's motivational coalition building. What I want is for the speakers to be good at motivating the base. Get Kamala and Tim in office, and then we can yell at them for not doing what we want.

Gus Walz broke the internet with his tearful love for his dad. Then the bullying began

Trump supporter and podcaster dismisses Gus Walz as 'puffy beta male'
But the show of affection triggered a swath of snark and ugly comments on social media, many from MAGA supporters of former President Donald Trump, who faces Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Walz in November.

Conservative columnist and right-wing provocateur Ann Coulter mocked the teenager’s tears. “Talk about weird,” she wrote on X. The message has since been deleted.

Mike Crispi, a Trump supporter and podcaster from New Jersey, mocked Walz’s “stupid crying son” on X and added, “You raised your kid to be a puffy beta male. Congrats.”

Alec Lace, a Trump supporter who hosts a podcast about fatherhood, took his own swipe at the teenager: “Get that kid a tampon already,” he wrote, an apparent reference to a Minnesota state law that Walz signed as governor in that required schools to provide free menstrual supplies to students.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Jay Weber, a conservative Milwaukee radio host, made a now-deleted post on X criticizing the Walz family.

"If the Walzs (sic) represent today's American man, this country is screwed: 'Meet my son, Gus. He's a blubbering bitch boy. His mother and I are very proud'."

After removing the post, Weber apologized and claimed he didn't know Gus had a learning disability.

USA TODAY reached out to the Walz campaign which declined to comment.

MAGA bots are triggered tonight on Twitter. I've never seen this many accounts with fewer than 100 followers upset about so many minor things.

Just a couple of random thoughts:

1. Whoever put this all together did a marvelous job. Absolutely marvelous.
2. I think "America the beautiful" would be a better national anthem.
