Looking at how many states are absolutely locked in to one party or the other regardless of who might be nominated, it amazes me to think back on the '84 presidential race in which Reagan carried 49 states. I think it's safe to say we will never see anything like that again.

It will repeat, hopefully not soon.

The late 70s were a time to mop up any former demonstrators still alive or not in prison for drugs. It was a time of maximum perception of intelligence agencies, when everyone cancelled subscriptions to liberal magazines, slanted their verbal statements toward the Right, feared to write their opinions in college assignments, cut their hair, etc. As the national IQ collapsed, no one spoke up for Carter.

The 80s were a conservative era, defined as, the absence of criticism of conservatism. Liberals were just as numerous, just silent in fear. First the Iraq/Afghan War shook up a little resistance, then Trump did so a lot, with a new innocent generation unafraid to pipe up.

It will repeat. When the evildoers in power feel the need to dampen leftist enthusiasm, they will resurrect the cycle of fear. They can encourage journalism about their infiltration of all power structures (70s newspapers), U.S. torture (2000s war coverage)...or (in computer articles of the last 15 years) software analysis of 100% of phone calls, texts, and basketball message board posts.
 
I truly hope that Trump loses by a landslide. That would help heal this country and shrink the partisan divide.

It could happen, if they discover that GLP1 drugs improve intelligence along with all the other benefits.

Otherwise, I don't have much hope.

The immigrants are legal. Social services not draining. Town not in chaos. No pets have been eaten.

without the MAGA movement I doubt if many will bother to vote ever again...just like the good ole days they long for.

No joke, I would eat a guinea pig if I HAD to. I used to stare at Bob, my daughter’s and always wondered what he would taste like.
 
Not just Vance. Ted Cruz tweeted picture of kittens with caption protect your pets, vote Trump. Trump campaign ran AI generated image of Trump cuddling kitten and duckling, which I am absolutely certain he never did, promising to protect our pets from immigrants. The pets of all those cat ladies they love so much.

Never in history have this many repulican's endorsed a democrat. Could have something to do with about 40 fired or resigned cabinet members after or just before Jan 6th coup attempt. Most witnesses for the Jan 6th committee were die hard Republicans before Trump threw them under the bus. Certified.

Unfortunately, like the others, you’ve managed to say nothing. The connection is quite blatant, it just makes you uncomfortable to acknowledge your warmonger candidate was just endorsed by the ultimate warmonger…so you simply attack the messenger because you know it’s such a bad look to even try to defend it at face value.

Also, if you are going to critique someone on ‘failed connections’ maybe hold off on the incoherent topsy turvy toy analogy next time. That was really dumb, and a failed connection.
