My guess is that he won't have the ego that Gay has/had, and will better understand where he is in the pecking order - a complimentary player rather than a ball-dominant player.
This guy's 53rd point sums up his analysis pretty well.

Matt Hrdlicka said:
53). With all of this said, Green could be an upgrade over Tayshaun, Quincy, and Jon Leuer. But for this move to be worth a lottery pick, Green has to play both differently AND better, than he has ever played in his career. That could happen. This twenty-eight year old player who has logged over 16,000 career minutes could, suddenly, begin only taking corner threes, rebounding effectively, and generally doing what it takes to be a net positive.

I feel better.

Does he come off the bench?
Yes. But I hope he starts and Lee gets pissed because I would love to have Courtney Lee, snowballs chance though. Then again if he doesn't want to come off the bench there...

Thompson led the Western Conference in scoring at 27.7 ppg, and helped the Warriors to a 3-0 week. Thompson connected on 13-of-26 (.500) from three-point range and 14-of-15 (.933) free throw attempts. On Jan. 7, Thompson poured in 40 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field, including 6-of-11 from distance, and added four rebounds and three assists during a 117-102 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta's Jeff Teague, Denver's Arron Afflalo, Detroit's Greg Monroe, Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, New Orleans' Anthony Davis, Philadelphia's Robert Covington, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, and Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins.

Cover your eyes Sinobas!

Thought Dame woulda landed POW this week, but Klay had slightly better numbers.

Dame put up 26.3 ppg, 5 apg, 3.5 rpg, on 48% FG, 38% 3pt, and 83% FT in a 4-0 week

Another top west team gets stronger. Will the Blazers counter with a deal of there own?

Adding players doesn't necessarily make your team stronger. Dallas hasn't looked better with Rondo who shot 1/11 the other day. They Rockets have been worse with Josh Smith. There is no guarantee this will make the Grizzlies better. As far as teams that have made moves, the team that has gotten stronger is Detroit who are 8-1 since cutting Smith.

Coincidence that they are coached by the Spurs Assistant? Me thinks not.

Makes me wonder if Poppovich was really the mastermind behind the current Spurs scheme. Remember, the early Spurs championship runs were based around grind-it-out defense and very methodical offense.

How did Howard not get ejected for throwing a punch?

You can keep telling yourself that although it's not true at all. I remember just a week ago you said the Rockets were falling down the standings and yet here they are, 3rd in the West and 4th best record in the NBA. So much for that.

Don't talk so soon, you're beating up scrubs right now (Cavs, Knicks, Jazz Nets) but you guys have a brutal stretch coming up... Thunder, Warriors, Pacers, Warriors, Suns, Lakers, Mavs.

A full THREE games behind Portland who has been suffering from tons of injuries. Houston is only 6-4 in last 10. Their win% with Smith is worse than their win% without Smith. This is the TRUTH. Meanwhile, Pistons are 9-1.

Math lesson for Superbeard

Rockets without Josh Smith: 20-7 (.740)
Rockets with Josh Smith: 6-4 (.600)

Checkmate.

Dude that's weak. If I'm superbeard I'm laughing at you trying to play that again, especially after they have won 4 in a row.

Going to be a good test for sure. I agree their schedule has been weak but I also think they are much better with Smith off the bench than starting. Can't wait to see how this next stretch plays out for them.

Approaching his 35th birthday next month and after 12 NBA seasons,Tayshaun Prince isn’t really the guy to have as part of a long-term rebuilding project.

However, as of Monday Prince is now part of the rebuilding Celtics, he was moved there in the three-team Jeff Green trade.

Which leads to the question, what do the Celtics do with him? Prince knows how the business works so he will report to Boston, reports A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com.

The question is now long he will stay. It is possible that Prince and Boston could part ways quickly, reports Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

Basically, if Prince is willing to take enough of a discount in the buyout of his $7.2 million deal the Celtics will set him free.

Should that happen there will be suitors for Prince, although teams are not going to offer more than the league minimum. The Clippers quickly come to mind as a team looking for depth at the small forward spot.

Prince’s skills are certainly in decline but because of his length and IQ he’s still a decent defender. Offensively he was the guy teams helped off of against Memphis because he shot just 41 percent (although he shot a much improved 45.5 percent from three this season) and his bad habit of settling for the long two (31.1 percent of his shots this season were from 16 feet out to the arc). Still, he put up 7.3 points a game with a PER of 10.6, which some team might think is good enough for 15 minutes a night.

So should the Blazers be watching close and should they be interested?

Dude. I said Rockets were worse with Josh Smith. He said that wasn't true. He was wrong. Basic math.

No. What would we want with the lowly Grizzlies' trash? Wright is better.

If you find a $20 on the ground, do you pick it up?

no. and they'd have to be drunk to consider it.
WHHHHHAAAAAT!?!?

How do you not give thought to signing an NBA champion and 4 time all defensive team player. Holy shit talk about some of the best experience in the league at the 3 for nothing.

Put him in the game for 7-8 minutes in the playoff and watch him shine.

Why did the Grizzlies give him up then?
