If lebron returns to the court right after all these moves then I think we all know what is really going on.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!

Cleveland needs a center BADLY. They don't need him to score, just someone to clog the paint and rebound. Cleveland is in win now mode, and desperately so. They already mortgaged their future in the Kevin Love trade. So, pissing away a couple more future late first round picks doesn't really hurt them that much.

This would be a good deal for Denver. With the emergence of Nurkic, Mozgov is totally redundant (plus they also have Hickson and McGee on the payroll). So, getting a couple future firsts for a piece they don't need is a good deal for them.

This is really a trade that makes a lot of sense for both teams. Cleveland is desperate for a serviceable center, so Denver is holding their feet to the fire and demanding 2 firsts, but I suspect those will be highly protected first round picks (like top 20 protected).

Lets see how long it takes this team to mesh.

Anyone can win the East, fact is Cleveland got A LOT better defensively this week with the additions of Shumpert and Mozgov. If Irving and Love can just not fuck up they should go the finals... and lose.

It looks like they view the Bulls as their main competition in the East. Adding Shumpert and Mozgov helps them match up better against Noah and Butler.

still cant see them beating bulls in a series.

they got better defensively but enough? that im not sure on.

It's not like they were meshing before. So, these trades don't set them back in the chemistry department. As long as J.R. Smith doesn't pull a gun on anyone, their chemistry might have gotten better by dumping Waiters. As noted, adding Mozgov and Shumpert definitely improve their defense, both inside and perimeter.

BNM

It's the Bulls still, LeBron OWNS them in the playoffs, I think he has beaten them four times 4-1....
What happened in the past means very little.

Those heat teams are history and this bulls team is alot better now. The Bulls also have a guy who gives lebron fits and that's Jimmy Butler.

Bulls if healthy have more options and a better frontcourt

Could cavs win? Yeah sure could. .just hard to see them putting it all together.

That was kind of my point though... after they got Love everyone was pencilling them in to win the East. Now after these trades people are starting to do it again... Im taking a wait and see approach on the situation.

Butler gives him fits but LeBron is still gonna drop 25/7/7, the real question is who is going to stop Irving? Rose? Nah.

Also you have to factor in health, the Bulls will not be healthy going into the playoffs, you can almost guarantee it.

He is bit if lebron does that on sub 40% shooting? Won't be that successful.

You can't base predictions on expecting guys to get hurt. fact is they are healthy now and that's what you Base their team on.

Irving is a talent but not the smartest.

I will say this..cavs will have more trouble guarding rose than bulls will at guarding Irving.
.their D even with these guys I'm not sure it's championship standard

Yeah, Shumpert helps their perimeter defense, but he's an offensive zero. And, that's where the Bulls have a big advantage. Jimmy Butler has always been a defensive stud, now he's an offensive stud, too - a real two-way player.

That, and Kevin Love can't guard Pau. In a series, I think CLE would actually put Mozgov on Pau and let Love try to guard the lower scoring Noah who spends more time in the high post.

Plus, I love that the Bulls have two bigs that are great passers. Pau was a great pick up for them and a perfect fit. It reminds me of interior passing of the 2002 Kings with CWeb, Vlade. Noah and Pau aren't quite on that same level, but it's close. When you have multiple bigs that are great passers, it creates a lot of easy scoring opportunities and that also makes the Bulls well suited for playoff success (as long as they don't have the same officiating crew as the Kings had against the Lakers).

I highly doubt LeBron shoots 40%, playoff LeBron is another type of animal. Honestly Butler will probably foul a ton IF a Cavs-Bulls series happens.

Rose will probably be guarded by Shumpert, so that's a lot of length and quickness to deal with.

Irving - Dunleavy
Shumpert - Rose
James - Butler
Love - Noah
Mozgov - Gasol

That's what the defensive matchups would be.

Butler is an overrated offensive player, he gets a ton of trips to the stripe. That wont happen in the playoffs.

Butler have him fits last time and didn't get in foul trouble and now butler is even better offensively.

Shump is a decent defender but not where it was before his injury. He's certainly not as good as he was.

Cavs are in a better position now with these moves. They are going all out that's for sure.

Gives them a good chance again

Last time LeBron played Butler in the playoffs he averaged 24/8/7 and 10 FTA.

When it comes to Shumpert yes he isn't the same but neither is Rose. It all equals out there.

Difference is though rose can still give bulls 20 to 25 on any given night..Rose if he can stay healthy should only get better one would expect

Back then the Bulls had Nate Robinson who could do the same, Rose is that type of player now, an ultimate crapshoot. I mean he is averaging 17/5/3 on .404 shooting with 3 turnovers a game, is that any different than what Nate Robinson was giving them? Robinson put up 16/4/3 on .436 shooting and 3 turnovers a game.

Getting rid of waiters was the best thing for Cleveland. He is a me first cancer that has Westbrick mentality and emotional combustion with about 20% of his skill.

Book it... Cleveland got better

As I said rose was always likely to have a Rocky start. He's coming off two major Injures. I would expect if he's still healthy he should only get better one would think.

Bulls do have more options now so his offense isn't badly needed as it stands right now.

Bulls chemistry and depth is what gives them a step up on everybody else in the east for me

Idk, I just feel the same story has been told about the Bulls for years now, I'll never believe until I see. They have proven absolutely nothing to me.

Neither have the Cavs .bulls issue has been health and lack of a scorer. Now they have butler who is now a 20 point scorer and another legit big in pau.

That is a big step up..will see how it pans out but bulls are favourites to me.

If cavs put it all together then yeah it could go either way
