OKC announces Durant has been pulled from basketball activities and intimates that he is done for the season.

Durant out indefinitely? Their GM said he is being removed from all basketball activities...

It's happening... They're gonna move him in the summer.

I would actually look into it now. Those foot injuries could derial what is easily a all timers career.

A Jones fracture, while fairly likely to recur if not fully healed, is not usually career ending. They are slow to heal, but if given the time to heal properly, should not become chronic. The only player I can think of who had his career ended by a Jones fracture was Sheed, and I'm not sure if he counts. He had been retired for 2 years, came out of retirement to sign with the Knicks at the age of 38, played for a couple months, broke his foot, had surgery and sat out for a couple months, came back for one game and announced he was re-retiring.

Im not saying its career ending and frankly I havent looked much into Jones fractures. Just what iv heard by a lot of media members on shows iv listened to and watched. No one said it would end Durants career but if he tried to come back early or before it is fully healed the chances of problems arising was very high and it could easily altar the rest of Durants career.

Jones fractures are slow to heal due to poor circulation in that area of the foot. He should just shut it down for the rest of the season and let it COMPLETELY heal over the summer and then he should be fine. The problems come when you try to rush back from this injury, then you're going to re-break it and the healing process has to start all over again. Take a full 6 or 7 months off, well beyond the normal 3 - 4 months, and he should be fine.

6 mil in 1974 is 28.4 mil now lol

And that would be a bargain for KD! He's going to get a lot more than that. I always thought it was Curt Flood who paved the way for big free agent contracts in professional sports. Turns out it was Steve Austin!

Terrence Jones out an extended period of time with a collapsed lung.

Didn't the jones fracture end Yao's career?

I do know it's not always career ending.. Pau broke his in 06 and hasn't had any issues after.. so..

Steve Nash formally announces retirement.

Steve Nash said:
I looked up to Jay Triano, a star guard on the Canadian national team, as a kid. He recruited me in high school and coached me in the Sydney Olympics. His love for the game and competitive nature was always infectious. I never had more fun playing for anyone. Representing Canada in the Olympics was the best experience of my career, and he got us there.

Damn, just got done reading the nash story... It's worth it. Hell of a read.
