Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Shumpert if you could get him on the cheap-ish. I think he'll blow up as soon as he gets away from the black hole known as Carmelo Anthony.

Kyle Singler if you can get him on the cheap.

I think you could get Shumpert with a T-Rob/Wright combo... we would have to take another contract back (which would have to be JR Smith or Calderon) or find a third team to dump a bad contract on.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

I don't know.. doesn't seem like they get much for Thad and Pek.

What do you guys think of Josh Smith? I'm sure Detroit would LOVE to get out from under his deal.

Smith for Robinson, Freeland, Wright, and Claver.

Bring him off the bench with CJ/Blake/Kaman and have him swing between SF and PF.

Remember Gerald Wallace shooting 3s? Yeah... Smith is worse... and is a max player.

I don't think he's max. He's only making 13 million. Just rely on Stotts to get him back to the slashing defender that he was in Atlanta. He used to be a good player.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

I thought he signed a 4/56

Maybe it goes up next season? :dunno:

You know who I'd like to get but I'm sure most people wouldn't agree with me?

Rudy Gay. He's someone I would like to go after this summer. I think he would be a great third option to go with Dame and LA. He can create his own shot and I think he has grown as a player since his days in Memphis.

TRob, Batum, Wright for Gay.

Lakers still have 8 games on ESPN.....

Also Rudy Gay is whack. I'd stay away.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Apparently everyone knew LA was going to suck except ESPN.

8 ESPN, 8 TNT, 7 NBATV, and 2 ABC games. It's because the league is going to ride Kobe into the ground.

To compare we have 9 ESPN, 5 TNT, 7 NBATV, 0 ABC

Also we don't have any whack teams scheduled for the national game. Phoenix is the whackest. Not only do the Lakers have PHX on national TV, they also have Denver and the Knicks(twice!)

We should look at Afflalo... He has to be pissed in Denver,

He's a shooting guard. We don't really have a need/minutes for a shooting guard. Between Wes, CJ, and Dame playing the two, we are pretty set at that spot.

Afflalo is a vet who can shoot and play good D. Come playoff time, I rather have him off the bench than CJ... plus he can play the 3 sometimes like Wes.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

The NBA gave the Cavs a stupid adventagous amount of time off to start the season.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

The Lakers have the NBA's leading scorer and that will always draw viewers. Your hatred hides what little common sense you people have.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

So, what has happened to Andre Iguodala?

He has been getting worse and worse for years. It has actually been discussed at length on this forum. He basically isn't good enough to play ahead of guys like Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes.

Go look at his averages since his days in Philly. They have been slowly going down every season.

I know his production has gone down but the guy is still on a contract similar to Batum and is averaging 6/3/3... He isn't even that old too...

Much of his game was predicated on athleticism, and he's clearly not the athlete that he once was. He's on a contract similar to Batum because Golden State was desperate to put playmakers around Curry, and they blew up their bench to get him.

Along with what Nate said, I think people saw him on ESPN and saw the highlights, and assumed that meant he was far better than he really was.

Never was a bum, but was overrated by a some fans (Blazer fans). Grass is greener sorta thing. He put up rather pedestrian #'s after he turned 26

I was never one that believed that shit. In fact, I gave run a piece on how stupid GS was for inking that deal.

He's still pretty much an elite wing defender who's playing off the bench for GState because he's a lot more versatile than Harrison Barnes. He's essentially their bench PG. (So, he's doing for their bench what Batum, whose scoring is also way down, is doing for our starters.) His numbers are down right now, but given their record, I doubt the Warriors are too worried. There's a reason they have the highest fg% differential BY FAR in the league (theirs is .079, Chicago is second with .045, we're 4th with .035).

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Congrats are in order for Kobe Bryant who has now missed the most shots in NBA history.

After tonight, Warriors' record will be 5-3, not as good as ours. They're overrated.

He also just kinda sucks now. Father time has caught up with him. He's a complete nonfactor on offense, never looks for his shots, and even when he does he can't shoot it. He's also averaging 2.7 assists in nearly 30 minutes, hardly a facilitator.

Honestly? He's more Steve Blake than Nic Batum at this point, but he's still being paid like he's an all-star.

Blake is better.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Anthony Davis is currently sporting a 35.33 PER

Top 5 player by the end of the season

He's the best big man in the game. Aldridge is #2. I still give Aldridge the edge because he's lead his team to the playoffs. But talent wise, he's the best

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Davis is better and it's not much of a debate imo

He even averages more FTA per game than Aldridge. Natebishop is pissed!

I feel like I remember you arguing that I was wrong for saying this no more than a month ago.
