Pelicans eliminated themselves from playoff contention. We eliminated Suns on closing night and then eliminated Grizz in play-in.
IIRC, it was one of our wins that officially eliminated them, but I could be wrong tho.

I didn't switch anything...

The entire point of a lockout is the owners complaining about how much players are making, and to try to win the PR battle, they also often complain about how little revenue their franchises make (while refusing to open their books to prove their claims).

And then you switched it again, from them whining to making silent PR statements. You usually have pretty solid logic to your arguments, but this one is a face plant.

We'll have to agree to disagree. It doesn't seem like you're disputing what I'm saying so much as just making statements with no basis. It doesn't even leave me anything to actually respond to.

Dame walked straight off the court tonight from what I could tell instead of shaking hands. Don't see him doing that very often.

I could understand that. I was angry and I wasn't even playing.

A game the Blazers shouldn't have lost, especially considering the circumstances. Now there's a lot more pressure to win 2 of the next 3 when we easily could lose all 3.

Denver getting waxed by hawks. As i said before this year teams are much more balanced. Outside of Twolves anyone can beat anybody on any given night. Celtics blew 24 pt lead in 3rd quater to pelicans. Insane

Ya see that? Incredible these refs. Imagine dame called for that nonfoul?! Kawi demeanor is cold with no emotions, Dame would have gone nuts rightfully so. These scum refs need to be held accountable

Saunders out in Minnesota (hire never made any sense) - and they're getting an assistant from Toronto to replace him. Dame and CJ arguing on twitter they should've gone with Vanterpool.

How in god's name is Boston 15-15 in the east.....with all that young talent and a supposed up and coming great coach? Somebody please explain.

DV mistake of joining a garbage team for the same position.

Nick Nurse already sprouting a coaching tree.
Starting to look that way but Finch has only been with the team for a few months. I'm going to assume this is a prior relationship he had with the Wolves GM. Something that DV apparently didn't have.

I believe he has ties with the Wolves GM from their Houston days.

But this would be the 2nd Nurse assistant that got a head coaching gig. Indiana’s coach Nate Bjorkgren was an assistant under Nurse as well.

dame needs to be careful with his commentary here. DV is technically still an assistant there under the new guy. Could create a really shitty work environment.

But ya, you figured Vanterpool woulda been the interim. That's the whole reason he left to Minny in the first place-- to be first in line.

also, really unusual for a midseason hire of an asst on another team.

I don't have a great feel for DV like some here, so I ask: why do you feel he'd be a good head coach?

1) Dame is a good evaluator of coaches?
2) The defensive success of the two teams he's coached?
3) Comes from a great coaching tree?
4) Other?

Again, I don't know if he'd be a good head coach or not, I'm just curious what logic is being used to make this determination. (full disclosure: I will likely apply this same logic to other people to test it).

What merits does DV have to say he's a good defensive coach?

None that I'm aware of. I'm not sure there is evidence any of the options I listed are true, outside of "other"!

Yeah that last part is crazy. If dame cares so much he can vouch for the hiring of Vanterpool here by kicking out Terry.

It ruined what could've been an exciting finish that led to OT. Fuck Harden and that bullshit, but these refs need to be held accountable for that. As for Dame going nuts, I mean he pretty much did against the Jazz last season.

All that young talent? It's just two guys who are B+ level talent and that's it. They've got nothing else. And one of them got Covid. And Smart has missed time. And the coach isn't up and coming anymore. That was 4 years ago. He's out and going, lol.
