If you're a buyout candidate, why would you come to Portland? This is a legit question - I really want to know.

Good culture. Playoff team. Superstar point guard. A player friendly coach. Minimal media pressure.

Dame is a shit recruiter.
Man you need to go outside and get some fresh air...maybe take a few weeks off watching the Blazers. You used to be one of the better posters around here but damn it's nothing but WORST TEAM EVER. DAME CANT RECRUIT FOR SHIT. OLSHEY SUCKS.

Having a kid was the best thing that happened to me. Blazers lose? The sky isn't falling. I used to be the same way but sometimes we all need to remember at the end of the day to just take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

We obviously need to sign another guy for league rules, but I'm not sure we even have a role for a buyout guy as it currently stands. Any guy coming would feel like a break-in-case-of-emergency signing, and that wouldn't be appealing to most of these guys. Honestly, Jeff Teague might make as much sense as anyone else (I puked in my mouth as I said that, for the record). Think about our current rotation assuming health:

Guard minutes: All can/will go to Dame, CJ, Powell, and in rare instances Simons...
Forward Rotation: Covington, DJJ, Powell, Melo, and Nassir seem to have it taken care of
Center: Nurkic and Kanter (and RoCo if you want to go small)... or Giles for garbage/filler minutes

Could LMA or Porter Jr. crack the rotation and push someone out? Sure, but I'd have to think there are more clearly defined and available roles on other contending teams than will be far more appealing than what Portland has to offer.

I'd expect a veteran backup PG to be signed to function as injury/Simons insurance, but frankly, not else makes much sense.

It is almost April. Does anyone care where they live for a month or two? Or are you asking why would a player want to come and play for any team not in the championship conversation?

I wish i could be as relaxed as you are but i'm already to emotional invested into Blazers. Maybe i need a kid too. Haha

Dame is a bad recruiter. Do you disagree? Whether you want to call it shit, or poor, or mediocre, or sub-par, those are just different adjectives that all say the same thing. Simply because I choose to use profanity doesn't change the content of the message. It doesn't imply that I'm angry or raging. It's a statement. He's a bad recruiter. This has been proven time and time again.

I agree with this assessment, unfortunately our roster isn’t good enough to make it to the finals and no one in the buyout market can elevate us there either. I expect major changes this offseason. We either trade CJ or sign and trade Powell somewhere?

LOL... You haven't been a Blazer fan while Olshey has been in charge. We've had a HUGE need for a competent backup PG for YEARS, and NO has made no effort to fill it.

I agree with this. The Blazers do need a "in case of emergency" signing though. I would like that to be a guy that can play PF/Center. Preferably a player that can come in and contribute for some matchups that the team is vulnerable to as it stands. Personally I thought McGee would have been a nice pickup.

The second one.

Does Chicago have to waive somebody? Could it be our old pal Aminu?

Yep. McGee may have been a bit over qualified for that role unless he is displacing Kanter, but he would have worked (wouldn't have traded 2 seconds for him though). I'm hoping that some of our big-man matchup concerns are the result of us as fans forgetting what the rotation will be like when Nurkic returns on Friday. I wonder if we will still see that as a big need or will Giles (and going small suffice).

Any interest in Jabari Parker?
Not a huge difference maker, but could be a decent bench guy.

No need to worry about league rules, we'll just convert Blevin's to a full contract.....

Aldridge has a chance to start with the Lakers or Heat. That's what matters to him. Let him go there and be a token starter for 5 mins. We have no use for him.

Jeremy Lin is a G-League Free Agent who lit it up for 20ppg/6apg on 50/42/88 for Santa Clara....which is close to GSW....and he plays "backup PG"...

Mia does need to replace Olnyk

Dame got us Kanter back...
