Can someone tell me the timeline on Collins? Will he be back this season? Will he ever suit up for Portland again?

Who knows....but, Tuesday night in the Brooklyn game he still had a boot on. Regular season ends in less than 7 weeks

James Johnson is another name I’ve seen as a possible buyout candidate. I would take him over most of the other names I’ve seen thrown out there. Very good defender. Big body. Can pass it.

Leaning in heavily on the "who knows" bit, cuz I sure as hell don't, but worth mentioning that a boot isn't always indicative of progress or lack there-of. Often guys with dings don boots for a couple days to maintain swelling, protect those dings, add stability, etc., it's a common occurrence in the NFL for a guy to be seen in a boot on Thursday and play with little/no affects on Sunday.

Again, I have ZERO insight into ZCo's recovery, just saying that him still being in a boot doesn't tell us much other than he's not all the way back, which, duh.

There is the overly optimistic hope he could return just before or during the playoffs. He probably won't return till next season, if he isn't traded in the offseason.

he’s a restricted free agent who hasn’t really played in two seasons. Doubt there’s a market for him, and he should be affordable to retain. Kanter and Giles are both free agents. And for all the good Kanter does and how great of a guy he is, I would still take a healthy Collins over him. We miss Collins more than some think.

Even if he did come back, I don't expect he would contribute much. He didn't look particularly great when he returned in the bubble before going down again.

i had a vision last nigth that we brought back Meyers.

*shudder*

Boot might be precautionary so nobody hits it or turning the wrong way but me I think he out remember the season there no really hurry to rush him back just let ankle where he doesn't have problems with throughout his career and his life.

We gotta get Dieng. He’s better insurance for Nurk than Kanter. If Nurk goes down again we’re fucked in the playoffs. I would personally play him over Kanter but if you’re Stotts you can play depending on matchup.
