What do the Knicks fans feel about Eric Musselman? He's pretty vocal, but he has tendency to clash with his players if they aren't named Gilbert Arenas or Antwan Jamison. He would always close out with Earl Boykins, Gilbert Arenas the 2 spot, Antwan Jamison, Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle. So if a player could really score or really play defense well he'll roll with that and go with the smaller lineup. It's no wonder why the Warriors scored so well, but still lost because of the defense...

Anyway Musselman might be pretty good, but I don't know about his ability to write up plays for the half court players like Mike Sweetney.

I'm not so informed on coaches, but we need a coach thatstresses defense and yells or benches players for not playing D. We have tons of scorers and right now we need to get some defense.

Yeah like we need to have our coach fighting with our players. We cant even get our players to get along(Kurt Thomas and Marbury). That's a problem we dont need right now. Then there's the fact he isnt the kind of guy who really stresses defense. And if he cant or wont draw up plays for Sweetney then there is no reason to bring him aboard. Sounds like he'll make a good assistant coach though. But I want the head coach to stress defense and excel in a halfcourt game. So I guess we might as well just bring Herb Williams back.


Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

I don't care if we don't get a big named coach, I'm all for the future, get a guy who's going to make this team defense hungry, see Marbury, Crawford, Sweetney finally hustle on defense and make plays on defense, we already know they're talented offensive players.

Do we really need a big name guy like Phil or Saunders? Get me a player's coach who's going to make these guys love to play defense, thats how you start a winning organization.

The more I think about it the more I start thinking that Bill Laimbeer is going to be our next coach. It's the sort of move that Isiah would make. Which wouldnt be all that bad I suppose.

With the latest news that Brown may be getting fired, this thread is bumped for discussion.

I wonder why Detroit would even as much as consider letting go of Brown. If this does happen, in addition to this making my day, I think it might mean with a move or two, the Knicks can finally become legitimate contenders in the league. Let's keep our fingers crossed, guys.

This just in: Larry Brown is about to be released by Detroit. Everyone feels like we have a chance on him. Isiah reportedly will make Brown the wealthiest coach alive and I have absolutely no problem in that. Not only will our defense drastically increase, but we have a Hall of Fame caliber coach who will make a great impact on our team. If we do in fact get Brown, I think we can be the best team in the Atlantic. How does everyone else feel about it?

I like the idea. I will feel a little sorry for HErb. But I think it would be a major upgrade for this team

I heard that if there is a buyout with the Pistons, one of the conditions will be that Larry Brown won't be allowed to coach another team. However, if they just fire him then he's free to do whatever the hell they want. It would be great if the Knicks could get him, but they shouldn't wait too long, because this Larry's situation looks pretty messy.

No team can exert something as ridiculous as that into a buyout clause. NBA isn't run by some communists you know

Larry Brown will most likely take this year off and resume coaching in 06-07 season, possibly with the Knicks.
