I'm surprised Drury hasn't made some sort of deal but he had to go into the season expecting more from their projected scoring lines. Aside from CK, the scorers aren't even shooting let alone scoring. Panarin looks off and has become very reckless with the puck. I agree about Nemeth, he has been their worst dman. I wonder if any other team has played a schedule as effed up as the Rangers. Heavy road schedule then half week off, hard to get consistent. Let's Go Rangers!
 
The Devils are pretty good this year. Though Blackwood usually plays over his head the first 20 games then he sucks.
 
There’s always a fire the coach thread at some point but for the most part we thought Gallant did a good job. It’s at the end of the year if you get a fire the coach the thread dumbass that you take it seriously lol
 
He's not the strictest coach but he gets his message across and the players seem to respect him alot with his track record.
 
When a coach continues to play inferior players over better players, he's on his way to getting fired. Carpenter sucks cock. Rydahl made him look like a schmuck. Gallant sucked off Hunt last year. Now Carpenter. He's fucked Kakko and Lafreniere over time and time again. Coaches who play rejects over superior players end up getting fired. Quinn did it. AV did it. Torts did it. All got fired. This assclown was saved last year by Shesterkin. He's on borrowed time. I see now why he got canned in Florida and Vegas.
 
Even brodzinsky is better than carpenter and he got waived. Rydhal will be back but that’s a surprising move to demote him. Will see how Carpenter is in the regular season I guess.
 
Not surprising. This coach sucked off Hunt and Rooney all last year. There was a reason he was shit canned by the Panthers and Knights. Starting to show itself now.
 
So that's the reason we're stuck watching the Golden Knights and Panthers battle it out every year for the Stanley Cup.
 
You can't win the Stanley Cup when you have coaches that play inferior players over superior players because they have favorites. The coaches we have had here for over a decade keep doing this. That is where your GM needs to be strong. Drury should tell Gallant straight up. You have two choices. You can sit Carpenter as a backup in case there is an injury, or I will release him. Either way you will play Rydahl. Simple. If Gallant is so stupid that he couldn't tell that Rydahl was easily the better player than he must be corrected like a child. You also can't win the Stanley Cup when you show little commitment to developing the first and second overall picks like every other organization does when they luck out to get a pick that high. Rangers a break. I have no doubt he told his agent not to seek out an offer sheet. Thus, he took a crappy bridge deal. I don't not expect Lafreniere to do the same. I hope Drury can extend him to a 4 year, 20 million deal now. Same with Miller. I don't think Lafreniere will cut the Rangers a break like Kakko did. He's a Canadian boy. I could easily see the Habs offering him a 10 year, 80 million deal on an offer sheet. Drury did a great job extending Fox and Shesterkin. Shesterkin is going to save us at least 5 to 6 million on the cap with the deal Drury got him to sign. However, if he doesn't extend Lafreniere and Miller soon, he could be in big trouble. New York city is a shit hole. It's dangerous and has been ruined by liberal trash. It wouldn't be a city at the top of my list to play in if I was in the NHL. The Habs will have the cap room and have some easily movable contracts to make even more room. Lafreniere was a Canadians fan growing up. Yes, it does matter. See Tavares. See Adam Fox.
 
Lafreniere fits like a glove there. They need a top line, LW to go with Suzuki and Caufield. Drury can't delay. He must get Lafreniere extended. I heard he was talking to Miller and Lafreniere's agents.

Just another perfect example of the incompetent stupidity of this organization.
 
I am getting sick of the guy. No structure at all. The team looks on and off too many times. The kids get ice time but get punished with no pp time and looking lost. Doesn’t seem to know how to put the kids into positions to succeed.

Bro, it’s the same issue with 95% of NHL coaches. I’ve given up. If they are going to bring another guy it will be the same crap.
 
There’s definitely a chance that they partially blow this thing up at the end of the year. Kreider, Panarin and Zibanejad for vets are turning into terrible even strength scorers. They have also shown that they are not capable of gelling and playing with younger players successfully. Zibanejad at least on face-offs and defensively has a leg up on the other two. I’m starting to lean towards the organization seriously asking Kreider and Panarin to accept trades at some point before next year.
 
Not for nothing but outside of Boston, NJ and Vegas who have started off on fire the Rangers are right there with the rest of the contenders. And that's without playing their best or consistent hockey so far. In other words can we stop with this ridiculous to start every season and see how the season plays out?
 
Laughable that you think some new coach can just waltz in and come close to the success GG has had already in his short Rangers career - as if deep postseason runs are a common thing with the Rangers lately. Why do I feel that the fire Gallant crew are all the same posters so woefully wrong about the Rangers chances of making the playoffs last year? Who would you replace GG with? The minors coach Knoblauch? Seemed like just yesterday he was a hot item
 
You're not getting it. This team couldn't score well at even strength last year in the regular season and playoffs. This year it's worse. Poor veteran leadership and play. As I said before. Kreider, Zibanejad and Panarin have shown no ability to gel with any players other than each other or Strome. They simply have turned into PP specialist which means this team is fucked.
 
As Valiquette pointed out at intermission the Rangers create more scoring chances than any other team in the NHL, they just don't finish. I agree they're not [playing their best hockey but this team is better personnel wise for the playoffs.
 
I don't think they're better personnel wise right now than last year. You had Copp, Vatrano and Motte added which really solidified things going into the playoffs. It's a poor puck possession team and is terrible at even strength. Lafreniere and Kakko look more like late 1st round picks than lottery selections, regardless of who/where they are slotted.
 
Yep Kakk and Laf don’t look like lottery picks at all. Laf has been terrible lately and looks disinterested.
 
I don't really have doubts about Lafreniere going forward but i just don't know with Kakko. If they were to use him in a hypothetical Kane trade i wouldn't lose that much sleep over it tbh. If you traded just he and Kravtsov with maybe Blais to help with salary then you could keep both 1sts. Othmann could then possibly come up for the playoffs with an open spot too.
 
Respectfully, no way are we a better team today than the team that made the ECF last season. We lost Strome, Copp, Braun, Vatrano, and Motte and essentially added Trocheck, Blais, and Vesey. We are not as deep of a team, nor as versatile.

Now if you want to say we are maybe better than the team at this time last season pre trade DL, and that could set us up for some trade DL moves to make us better come playoff time, okay maybe I can get on board with that, but not sure how anyone could say we are better today than the team that lost to TB in the ECF.

And as for this years trade DL, we had a huge luxury of tons of cap space at the DL last season, which is why I was a huge fan of going for it. This year we'll barely have any room, and the injuries we have had and carrying an extra forward hasn't helped. We need to go down a forward very soon as everyday we carry 14 forwards is a big hit to our potential cap space.

That's because this dumb fuck organization has done everything wrong to develop them. It's fucking obvious. You don't take kids who have gotten huge minutes, played entire PP's most of their lives and then play them like role players and think they will develop. This organization has basically been retarded for 100 years.
 
Listing Strome as a postseason asset weakens your argument Chuck, he's a postseason zero whose selfishness led to the Rangers having to play down a man in an elimination game. The Rangers couldn't afford Copp and Vatrano but I think the assumption was the kids would take their slots om the 2-3 lines which isn't a huge dropoff imo. Vesey is an upgrade over Rooney as well.
