Official Game Thread POR vs LAL (10/28)

We all drank the kool-aid in some form or another. All of us have been waiting for this game over a year. I think that's a little bit of an overstatement, given the circumstances and our own (unrealistic) expectations.

Nope. You're a whiner. Deal with it.

Barclay is suck a loser sometimes. Just this summer he said the league better watch out the Blazers are coming and not next year but that year.

Who gives a shit what Charles Barkley says, he gets paid to say colorful stuff and make observations. Reality probably lies somewhere in the middle of those two statements.

Roy and LMA need to step up if we are going to make it a little clsoer game. Nobody played all that good except maybe Rudy but Roy and LMA especially need to step up.

Let's also remember the Blazers are playing arguably the best team in the NBA. They should be losing this game. That doesn't excuse the horrible, horriblep lay, but I certainly didn't expect them to win tonight.

If nothing else, Rudy could do some stuff to take the crowd out of the game.

OK...let's talk travis. Yes he's 4-7. Two of those were contested pull-up 18footers (one on a 3-on-2 break). He had a nice layin off of an offensive board (the one time he went inside), and a three from the corner. Please don't pretend to tell me he's played a good game. Being the tallest midget in the circus still means you're small---and the crazy thing is, we can expect Roy and Oden and LMA to snap out of it. There's nothing for Outlaw to snap out of. this is who he is, and at his "best" b/c he's making the tough, stupid shots.

Weird, all of the above just reads out as "rabble rabble rabble rabble."

Roy and Oden are 0-10 and we're only down 15? In my mind that's pretty good.

He's a scorer. Making 4 of 7 shots--whether they're dunks or tough jumpers--is a good showing on the offensive end.

He wasn't GREAT, but he wasn't the problem with our first half.

I'm sorry, but this is a completely ridiculous post. Outlaw and Rudy are the only reason the Blazers are even somewhat still in this game.

I'll be sure to just ignore any posts about Outlaw that you make the rest of the season; it is obvious that you have an agenda and and obvious bias against the guy.

Please tell me why it's ridiculous. Calling it an agenda does nothing to refute it. Say something intelligent, and ignore my posts. They're not for name-callers, anyway.

Refute it or ignore it...your choice.

This game is attainable..we need to cut into the lead..have it down to at least 10 at the end of 3

I agree. I normally actually like to listen Barclay because he is usually really funny. I knew I wouldn't want to hear what he had to say about the Blazers but come on he is just contradicting what he said just a couple months ago.

Hey, on the bright side, Oden and Bynum's stat lines are almost the same!

That laker team is scary. If they play defense like that all season, combined with the offense they already had . . . they are the team to beat.

The Blazers are just being schooled right now. Where the hell is Aldridge . . . shouldn't he be taking it to Gasol? And why all the Travis bashing, he's having a decent game and many are having bad games.

And then there is Oden . . . not the best start to his career . . . and you really can't say it's because of Bynum. ODen looks tenative right now.

Anyways, Blazers are somehow still in the game and a run puts them right back in it. If not, good learning experience to a team they aren't suppose to beat . . . looks like a bumpy ride ahead this year, buckle your seatbelts.

Oden looking like shit so far..
Rudy looking better than Roy also..

I don't even see the Blazers making the playoffs.. they remind me of the bulls from 06

Wow. I guess I'm in the super-minority of people who aren't on the nuts of whoever puts the ball in the hole. Raef for Ben Gordon, everyone!

I'm not an Outlaw fan but without he and Rudy, the Blazers are absolutely buried, not just mostly buried. Outlaw is doing well.

Gramps...

Another nitpick: Nate saying he didn't like the pace of the first quarter. Saying we had to slow down.

Did I mention we had 14 points in the first quarter?

Settle down? Sure. Slow down? Uh... no.

That's one good thing but people won't say anything about Bynum having a terrible game and I can understand why.

Everyone on the team has just been missing shots they usually make, that's all. Roy missed a wide open layup, pretty bad. Oden missed some easy shots as well.

This is not the same Blazers team we'll see on Friday night. Just remember that.

Oh yeah, and Blakes shooting 40% from 3 and scored almost as much as Travis. He must be playing out of his mind, too!

wow those nba live blazers jerseys look off, they made the white stand out way too much..2k all the way

Nate has this issue where he speaks before thinking over what he wants to say.

I think it's perfectly acceptable for him to make heat of the moment comments based on what he's seen tonight. We look like a jittery JV team and the team deserves to be criticized, but the point is, it doesn't matter, we should have known there were going to be nights like this throughout the season ... I just had hoped they'd come a little later on.

What's with this forum's mods and Indian actresses avatars?

I already pointed out that Outlaw has outscored Roy/LMA, has shot much better, and has tied the two of them in rebounding.

Your post was so idiotic, there was nothing to refute other than to point out your obvious bias against Outlaw. Travis had a solid first half. That's what the stats tell me, and that's what my eyes told me.

Rough first half, but we just looked out of sorts. We all know the talent is there, we just have to calm down. Roy didn't become a bad player over the summer. Some of the panic on here is silly.

I'm with you Brian, Outlaw has made some shots so you can't call him bad tonight, but he does represent everything that's wrong with the Blazer offense. Still, with everyone else aside from Rudy playing so poorly, he's hardly the biggest problem.
