Official JBB Winter Rap Tournament

I'm not running this, I'm just starting this. What do you guys think of having the next battle tournament on Christmas break? I talked to Brian about it awhile ago and he said we should set it up for XMas. Considering most people will have some free time around then, it seems like a good idea to me as well.

The battles were really fun when we held the first one in the summer, but there are some things we need to improve on. If you plan on participating in the rap battle say so here, therefore there is plenty of time to set this thing up for the future.

Some issues that may need to be revised:
-Voting System
-Battle Rules
-Battle Times

If you have any suggestions make them here. Can we get a sticky for this as well?

We should get like 2 or 3 people to implement all the rules, watch over the tourney, and keep it running smoothly. I'm willing to since I have mod privileges in here, but I don't want anyone to think that I'm biased, becase I want to compete too.

I've been thinking, so battles don't go on forever like the one me and Air Fresh had haha, we should have like 3 round battles only? Then maybe like 5 rounds for the championship. I dunno, just an idea because I found that if its too long, not as many people vote.

I'll be in. Hopefully we get more people in this which will make this interesting. And also, make a rule that you have to make a sig wearing bet against the person meaning the person who loses has to wear a sig made by the person he loses to.

I don't know about the whole sig wearing thing because its a torunament, not a personal matchup that you just set up yourself.

And yeah, the voting system needs to be changed. I think we need judges with a certain criteria. Kind of like ATF.

Alright, so who wants to be the judges? The judges should not be the members participating in the battles, just to make it fair. Also, I will need someone to help me out with this because I may not be home all of Winter Break

We should have a judging system going. Have 2 or 4 judges, and in case there's a tie, the vote becomes a tiebreaker.

Yea man, I think we need 4 judges and the voters are the 5th. Or 2 judges and the voters are the 3rd. Either way. Also, the judges can set up the brackets too, to try and make it as even as possible.

I think that this should be a team effort, meaning that all the judges will each have the opportunity to run this tourney, so that it isn't run by one person (like the last tourney)

I think it should be at least 3 judges..kinda like how they do it with Freestyle Friday and Fight Klub.

Yeah, that would make the voting easier and less sloppy.

I suggested an even number because that would mean we could use a vote.

If we have an odd number and have the votes count as a judge then we might reach stalemates. We could just have three and eliminate a vote but that might leave some people discontent with the decisions.

3 judges, and then have whoever has the popular vote with the regular people would count as 1 vote.

Well, it's technically an odd number, because there's an even number of actual posters who're judges and the popular vote counts as one judge if there's a tie.

Added you to the list J_Ray. Anyways, so the judges so far are Locke and authentiq, plus the popular vote. So that's three. Maybe we should just leave the judges at that? I'll be the guy that organizes the battles and such

Well, if I judge, then that means we will have an even amount of judges. Right now, it's at 3 with authentiq, Locke, and the popular vote. I'll just probably cash in my vote as a popular vote

Since NTC wants in, we could do 4 judges and the vote.

More judges = less reasons for sore losers to be sore losers.
