Ultimately, I think they fail miserably in the post season, then have to clean house and break down the team. Boston cleaned house in the off-season, trade for 2 extra first round picks and they are in first place. Our dumbass GM should learn from this.

Hayes may turn out to be a decent player but they really need the extra 3m for cap purposes, not to mention gaining a pick/prospect out of it.

Hayes has to go. He's a lazy fuck. Yet, he will have value because of his age, size and offense.
He is lazy as fuck but has value...so in other words only you see his so called laziness...no one else does and will give us tons to trade for him. ..

This os where the board gets tiring to read...this guy sucks that guy sucks...always the next wave of prospects are always better than we we currently have..why..because moron he is the next best thing.

Now lets bash becauae we haven't won a cup..washington..many cups...islanders many cups...florida many cups..carolina many cups..Vancouver, edmonton, Calgary. ..st loius, dallas san jose..the ducks...all fucking failures in the past 20 years..so..outside of detroit, chicago, los angeles and pittsburgh...everyone else in the league sucks

Typical Al. Thinks like a fan. Not like a coach or GM. Those people always think they can fix players. Much like the Rangers did with E. Staal. Pouliot. Brassard. Stralman. Boyle. Avery. Zherdev.

We are fans and so are you. You just like to think you're a GM.

Ok weren't you the one wanting poiliot back too fucking funny.

And yes i think like a fan because i am a fan not a wanna a be gm of the year which amazes me that you havent won it yet.

The Rangers know catching Washington is unlikely so they're playing for second, their opponents are playing more desperately. If they get the puck out of their own zone quickly and get shots on goal the Rangers can play with any team. Biggest concern going into the playoffs is the PK right now, 27th in the NHL - PP at 17th will hopefully improve with Staal. AV should be giving Hank more rest, playing him back to back is stupid. Hank will be playing every playoff game so it's ok for Raanta to play every now and then.

Tough 3 game west trip coming up but then they close out the year w 7 of 10 at MSG.

I'd be pretty happy w 3 points on this trip and then finish the season strong vs some tough teams but only 2 back to backs.

I still think they finish 2nd in Met and get the Islanders which unfortunately has 7 games written all over it. Will be an absolute war.

Time for this team to start putting it together and play complete games.

This team is making the playoffs despite our dumbass coach's many baffling personnel decisions all year because of the TALENT THATS HERE.. Once they get there if he continues doing things like sitting dylan every game in the playoffs instead of using him every game and sitting useless boyle in the stands where he belongs, putting dylan and Yandle back together to form a strong 2nd pair behind Mcd and klein, playing Yandle most or all of every power play, having staal take every meaningful defensive face-off for starters I don't see how we beat the islanders whose goal will not only be to win but physically to beat the living shit out of this team while our coach concentrates on what flavor his next wad of gum will be. I don't know if we'll beat the caps this year who look good and are due to eventually beat us in a series but we damn better sure make it to play them or our coach should be one of the many out the door this summer.

The lines were horrible, I am agreeing.

Why does he separate Brassard and Zucarello?

Lines should be:
Nash Brassard Zucarello
Krider Stepan Fast
Miller Stall Stallberg
Linberg Moore Glass

Hayes should be scratched, period. The only other thing I will try is changing Krider with Miller. Maybe Krider can learn a thing or two from Stall. This is the team! Why AV is trying something different is beyond me.

or you can try putting Miller on Brass' line, IMO Nash should play on Stepan's line or Brass', Miller should play on either of top 3, and Krider either on Stepan's or Stall's. That is it! AV is trying to be creative for no reason, and why Stall with Boyle are second pair Ds?

The more I think about it the ore I think he should put Hayes in the top 9 and let it fly. That is our best hope. That is how we can get enough depth to really win. Hayes is not a 4th line guy, that role is not suited for him at all IMO.

I would go back to basics and go:

Miller/Brass/Zucc
Kreider/Step/Fast
Nash/Staal/Hayes
Lindberg/Moore/Stalberg

I think that gives us balance and depth. Playing Hayes on the 4th line is asking for trouble. That is a bad spot for him. I may switch Stalberg and Fast though because I like the idea of Fast on the 4th line. I think he would really be a good fit there. Then have Stalberg with CK and Step. Again good balance and depth.

We need Hayes...I really don't see a way around it. So with that being the case I think getting him off the 4th line is the play.

I like your lines except I would not play Nash with Staal AND Hayes. This line would be slow as molasses. I would move down CK to see if he can click with Staal and move up the big pussy with Stepan. Of course we need that lazy dog Hayes. Our extra forward is Glass...LOL It is a joke.

??????????before any one thinks about beating
the Caps [unless the Rangers become a WildCard
during this past month], I'd worry about the
Islanders and/or Penguins.

And before I worry about what guys play with what guy on the forward lines (pretty much should be interchangeable) if we don't straighten the defense to the point where they can get out of their own end as hillary would say "what difference does it make". If AV doesn't change his slow as molasses defense staal, girardi, boyle and klein from the current impossible to play man to man to a zone defense I don't see how it changes.
