The last 10 games, Aldridge is averaging 20ppg, 1.2 blocks, 2.6 assists, 10 rebounds and shooting 47% from the field.

His game is getting strong as the season progresses and his rebounding and assists numbers are his career bests. He is passing out of the double teams more efficiently and is one of a very few PF's other teams pre-pare their defense for.

We are blessed and lucky to have him on our squad.

LA always starts out slow. He has been playing very well indeed.

And what's even crazier is he had surgery this off-season. Pretty amazing that he is doing what he's doing now without the summer to get into playing shape.

Is that part really necessary?

I was talking to a buddy the other day and a question was brought up regarding lma...

Would you take any pf in the league right now over lma? With all things considered, it would be tough to move him for any pf. But pf is one of the deepest positions in the league

If the question is a straight swap, then I agree that it's kinda pointless - though I still think there are a handful of PFs who play the position better. I don't think there's currently a clear-cut BEST PF in the league - there are a LOT of really good ones.
But I think the question is flawed - if we were trading LMA it wouldn't be a 1:1 trade for another PF. It would be for multiple players to address multiple weaknesses.

the way blake was playing last couple games, i think you would have to look at that at least

Sure, but how often do teams trade their best player when said best player has said nothing about wanting to leave. IMO there isnt any other pf id rather have. Plus, id rather keep our best player than trade him for pieces that are maybes.

Nobodies suggesting trading him for "maybes". But, he's our 3rd best player...or will be very soon as Lillard continues to improve.

I guess but blakes free throw shooting is terrible. I dont like the idea of guys doing hack a blake

Lots of people are suggesting we trade him for picks and potential guys.....where have you been?

Lma is our best player today. Lillard and batum may end up better, but that is far from a for sure thing

I haven't see the suggestions for just picks/potential.
And I disagree - Nic is currently better than LMA. Nic has a complete game and can impact it in many ways. LMA doesn't impact the game in any way aside from scoring.
What's frustrating is seeing how quickly Nic and Hickson have developed chemistry together. Yet nobody has been able to develop chemistry with LMA. When it was LMA/Roy it was like those two had never played a game together. The only player who has had any sort of two-man game with LMA was 'Dre, and that's just what 'Dre does with everybody he plays with. LMA just doesn't seem to mesh well with other players in the flow of the game.

Hickson and Aldridge have developed a lot of chemistry together. Ive seen a lot of passes to each other for dunks in the paint. I also see Lillard really taking advantage of Aldridge. And sorry but all our shooters are taking advantage of Aldridge demanding so much attention on the defensive end; where he kicks it out to the wide open man. He has 2.6 assists, and if there were hockey assists; he would be averaging 10 a game.

What do you suggest we do with lma?

I think batum has more talent, but dude has to continue to put it together. Today, id still take lma.
Lma has a higher per than lillard or batum, I know its not the end all be all as hicksons is higher and he is in no way better than those three, but still.

In another thread I suggested trading LMA/Claver for Monroe/Stuckey/Singler. Something along those lines is what I'd like to see. If we can also get a draft pick thrown in that'd be icing on the cake.

Id be ok with that but its not realistic. Why would Detroit do it when Monroe fits the knight, singler, Drummond core. Lma doesnt fit on Detroit.

Aldridge makes more sense next to Drummond than Monroe does.

Tell you what... If Aldridge is traded this off-season or before trade deadline; I will donate $2k to a donation of your choice (could be to the zags "I wanna get a week's supply of cougar fund"). That's how unrealistic Aldridge being moved is for this franchise.

I'm not saying he will be. I'm saying he should be.

Precisely. And everyone seems to think that every GM in the league would crap themselves to put LMA on their roster.
And it seems that a lot of people carry the opinion that you don't need to put a team together of players who are all the same age. And at only 28 that still gives a lot of productive years (more than the length of a contract) for Drummond/LMA.

But what is more valuable? Aldridge, Drummand, Lillard, Prince and Matthews or Lillard, Matthews, Batum, Hickson, Monroe?

Well, I put my answer in bold. Seems obvious enough. Prince is just about irrelevant. Nic is easily a Top 5 player at his position.

The real differences are

Aldridge > Monroe
Drummond >>> Hickson
Prince <<<<<<<<<<<<< Batum
