I made a video for Przybilla once that made him look like Dwight Howard.

I want to see a video that makes it look like Oden fouls about as much as Camby.

I posted that video to show his sweet jumper/3 point shooting. Has a nice stroke.

It's officially official.
TRAIL BLAZERS SIGN WESLEY MATTHEWS

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Trail Blazers have signed guard Wesley Matthews, it was announced today by General Manager Rich Cho. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A restricted free agent, Matthews signed an offer sheet with the Trail Blazers on July 10. The Utah Jazz elected not to exercise its right of first refusal and match the offer.

“Wesley is a great fit for our team both on and off the court,” said Cho. “As only a first-year player last season, he demonstrated a lot of maturity and ability. He’s already one of the best young defenders in the league and offensively he’s an emerging threat. He’s going to add a lot of versatility to our roster.”

Matthews, 23, appeared in all 82 games, including 48 starts, for Utah as a rookie in 2009-10. He averaged 9.4 points (48.3% FG, 38.2% 3-PT, 82.9% FT), 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.78 steals and 24.7 minutes for the Jazz last year.

In his first NBA season, Matthews (6-5, 220) started all 10 of Utah’s 2010 postseason contests, posting averages of 13.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.80 steals in 37.1 minutes.

A four-year player from Marquette University, Matthews went undrafted in the 2009 NBA Draft. He totaled collegiate averages of 13.2 points (44.4% FG, 34.1% 3-PT, 79.9% FT), 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.22 steals and 30.2 minutes in 127 games (117 starts) from 2005-09.

Matthews will wear jersey No. 2.

Jersey two means he's the new Steve Blake.

How quickly do the fans turn on Matthews if he doesn't start off playing well?

Hopefully, they don't turn on him. Even if he never lives up to his contract, it's really not his fault. Who among us would turn down a full MLE deal in his place, perhaps saying, "Well, if you go by PER, I don't really deserve this...please offer me less?" As long as he plays his best, he's in the clear as far as I'm concerned.

The decision-maker(s) who decided to sign Matthews for that much money? They're open game, in my opinion, if he fails to live up to the salary (counting it as MLE each year). And they deserve a lot of credit if he turns out to be a solid or good player.

Pretty much my opinion as well. However, being a little more specific about "playing his best"... WM was brought in with the idea of playing hard, with tough defense. If he puts in the effort, and plays hard-nosed defense, he won't be getting much criticism from me.

This board is gonna light this kid up!!!!!!! He is a defensive minded player who will have NO plays for run for him. He will be lucky to average 4 points on this squad. That should not diminish his value to the team, but people on here are gonna crack him for it regardless!

Watching both this and Raja Bell's interviews, I can only conclude that LeBron James is surrounded by yes men who are afraid to tell him what to do.

Nice interview by Matthews. He looked good, sounded good, and said the right things.

That was a great press conference. I loved what he had to say.

He made 3.7 Million his second year according to BBR.

Anyways, I don't think anyone can top Matthews's 9+ Million.

I hope your comparing apples to apples. Although he may get $9 mil this year in payouts. His salary is still $5.765 mil on the Blazer books. He only makes the MLE. The bonuses do not increase his salary one bit. He just gets his money ahead of time.

He gets $5.765 mil, $6.135 mil, $6.505 mil, $6.875 mil, and $7.245 mil over 5 years .

And I would guess KG got a huge bonus as well in his initial years.

The question is highest paid sophomore. And ALL THINGS CONSIDERED salary wise, Wesley is likely the highest paid sophomore in NBA history. Mmk? That's all there is to it, no more, no less.

You could have warned us that it was Katy Brown. She is the most god awful reporter in this town.

I have always found her to be very upfront and direct, as well as being a very nice person. She gets the job done. I prefer her over many of the others.

She asks some of the dumbest questions in press conferences and in the locker room. Most of those questions never make the airwaves.
