Lol that would be funny if AV plays him on the 4th line with Glass, as a goon ( I know he's a dman)... Torts would, remeber Bickel

well it took a very favorable bounce for the Hawks to get that second goal, if anything it should show how hard it is when Tampa plays that kind of defence for a team like the Hawks and all their talent to go goaless in 2 plus periods.Hopefully AV watched last night's game and took some notes. After being stymied by TB for most of the game Quenneville completely shakes up the lines and steals the game in the last 7 minutes. The AV-MSL friendship killed this team in the postseason.
he did that and the results were still two home shutouts. Sometimes the other team just plays better. AV didn't have many options he had 3 dmen with flat tires a pussy in his number one goal scorer.I agree there panzer. The MSL thing will be the lingering mystery for sure. Why he kept MSL on that 1st PP unit, as Nash and Yandle sat and watched, is a mystery to us all. All we can do is move forward and hope AV learned something.
He also should have moved Miller up and MSL down sooner IMO, but it is what it is I guess.
I think he was in a no win situation...his options were...move miller up ..ok...move fast up...ok...or..you hope that the 40 something has that one swan song game or series, game 6 gave you a glimmer of hopeAV still could've shaken things up and what he was doing with MSL was completely ridiculous. It hurt this team more than many people think.

That's the thing. AV had plenty of chances to learn and one hopes he would have learned it by now. He doesn't change, that's why it is a long shot he wins a cup. Look what Quenneville did. He sat Vermette for one game. He did not care and Vermette contributed tremendously in a win against the Ducks and last night he had a game winning goal. That's how you do it. If somehow magic formula clicks and no adjustments needs to be made then AV and the Rangers will win, otherwise not gonna happen. He is going to continue to do the same thing over and over that will frustrate us. Today it was MSL and Glass, tomorrow it will be someone else.
Right, but remember, if you want to go true vet at 6 and Mac at 7, rather than Mac at 6 and Hunwick type at 7, that vet 6 is going to cost up to a mil more than a 600k Hunwick. That mil could be a big difference in getting a right wing that's worth something, especially if part of Boyle's hit remains on the books after a buyout.
There will be no buyout for Boyle. His entire cap hit remains, as its an "over 35 contract". Could possibly be traded, and we could retain some salary, but we pretty much cannot buy him out.
I thought the new CBA was changed to allow normal buyouts for over 35 contracts, ie half the amount due on the books spread over twice the years (so 2.25 or so over 2 years). I could be wrong about this.
Edit; sorry 2/3 not half

I would not trade Klein. I would tell Boyle to either drop his NMC or he's in the stands. No need for cap relief. Dallas wanted Glass last year. They are in on Talbot. You could easily send him to Dallas with Talbot.
The right side should be Girardi, Klein and McIlrath. Trade Yandle for the most possible and make the left side McDonagh, Staal and Skjei.
