We always need a third scorer and I believe we got one now in Nurk. Now this off season we to get a PF and strengthen our bench.

These aren't fake assists either. He's making quick decisions, creating passing lanes, and throwing dimes.

Dude has such a crazy skillset and level of comfort at age 22.

I really wanna explore his post scoring more. His moves looks so fluid. None of this pounding the ball into the floor like Kanter/Aldridge always do.
Lowest dribble I've seen from a Blazer big in a long time...maybe ever...very unusual for a young big man

One thing that I like about Nurk is his ability to play like an old-school guard - in the sense that he will go for a layup when he sees that there is no point in going high. This makes guarding him in the lane pretty hard for many bigs. He is going to be a very interesting player to watch as time goes on.

Nurkic is ruining everything, we had that top 3 pick locked down!

Serious question: if we go on a tear, make the playoffs and end up facing GSW - assuming we're healthy and they're not (no Durant), do we have a chance at an upset?

GSW has looked very, very ordinary without KD. Yeah, it's only been two games and they still have other great players, but their depth took a huge hit losing Barnes, Bogut, Ezelli and Barbosa to clear cap space for Durant and now he's out. They look shell shocked right now over losing Durant, but have time to pull themselves together.

The problem as I see it is, without Durant (or Harrison Barnes) their small ball "death line up" looks a LOT less deadly. Reggie Miller (of all people) commented on it last night during the CHI game. Their small ball line up without Durant or Harrison Barnes (who is playing the 4 in DAL) is just too damn small. CLE exposed them in the finals last year, after Bogut went down. Without a rim protector, CLE outscored them by 17 points in the paint in the last three games of the series. With no Bogut and Kerr playing way too much small ball, it became a lay up drill for LeBron, Kyrie, etc.

So, would we have a chance, and would upsetting GSW in the first round, be worth falling out of the lottery? Of course, this is a best case scenario, but I think such an experience would really help such a young team come together. I think it would be good for the team, but I especially think it would be good for Nurkic, who has ZERO post season experience.

After last night's win with Turner coming back and Chief back healthy I think we'll have a shot at the playoffs..we're 9th in the west but from 8 to 13 in the west it's a one or two game swing to drop or gain ground...Minnesota has won two in a row and is on our heels...Dallas is winning..we're not running away with the 8th seed by any stretch with the remaining games. Only teams locked into the high lottery are Phoenix and the Lakers in the west

One of my friends who is a GSW lifelong fan and I were talking about a possible playoff rematch last night.

He said this.
" As far as first round matchup is concerned, the Warriors are essentially tied right now with the Spurs. They're 2 losses ahead with 2 games in San Antonio being on the second night of back to backs. I don't think they'll win either one the way they're playing right now. It's fucking ridiculous how bad they look. That first seed is definitely in question especially with Durant out probably the entire regular season."

I personally do not want to be eliminated by the team LaMarsha decided to join. Even getting eliminated in 7 games would piss me off. I'd rather lose 4 straight by 40+ to the Rockets than lose to the team LaMarsha joined.

That's why I didn't specifically mention a 1 - 8 match up. Maybe a 2 - 7? If we catch lightning in a bottle and SAS passes GSW, which I think they will. Yeah, I know not very likely, or practical, but I did say it was my best case, dream scenario.

I posted this in another thread...Denver plays their next 7 of 8 at home. I am guessing they will be up by at least 4 games after the next 10 games. If we stay 2 back going into our last 11, then we should catch them. I just don't think we will.

I guess if worst case scenario does happen, I can take solace in watching old man Z-Bo destroy lamarsha's hopes of getting out of the second round again.
Spurs don't have Duncan anymore, meaning no longer do they have Memphis' #.

We have no way of beating the Warriors.

-No one on our team can stop Curry.
-Who can guard Klay? CJ can't do it and Harkless falls asleep too often.
-Lillard had too much bad games against them.
-We had defensive problems against their "small time players" - Ian Clark and Shaun Livingston.
-Stotts is not equipped to handle Green - a PF who can shoot threes, pass well and play the pick and roll.
-GSW can get away with as many illegal screens as they like. Draymond can straight up shove Lillard out the way for a wide open Curry three.
-Lillard and CJ are unofficially on the refs shitlist right now.

I was on the playoffs wagon last season, but this team needs a serious makeover. Too many placeholder players need to go:
Turner,Meyers,Crabbe,Ezeli,Davis,Quarterman? Pat?
You get rid of Stotts as well, if a better coach is available (ATL's Bud?)

I don't buy this.....29 teams have to deal with the GS roster to win a championship...and I think Stotts is a great coach...roster upgrades won't happen without trade value....Turner is a keeper....if Crabbe and Leonard play well in the post season we'll get something for them...if not..you're looking at a long rebuild through the draft..can't sell low on the guys we want to move and replace them with value

Nurk is the son Sabonis should have had. He really reminds me of an old Sabonis, with that rolling thunder hook shot and the passing. Domantas looks like a bench player at best.

I wonder if this could be our Jermaine O'Neal trade...

We always need a third scorer and I believe we got one now in Nurk. Now this off season we to get a PF and strengthen our bench.

It's not just that he could be the 3rd scorer, it's the balance he brings as the 3rd scorer. Having someone like Crabbe be the 3rd doesn't really balance the floor or get the team an easy basket at times. Nurkic provides that low-post presence that now creates opportunities for other players and down the road when the team makes the playoffs either this year or next, he is the type of player that can get tough playoff baskets when the defense gets tight.

I've been ready to trade Plumlee for a center upgrade since last year's playoffs. This is a move that needed to be made. Nurkic is the truth. He's our second most valuable player. Cornerstone. I love this guy.
I'm ready for an upgrade at any position pretty much always. You're correct in saying Plumlee had to be traded as there was no way he'd be resigned by the capped out Blazers. Nice player, but with the money spent last summer the writing was on the wall. Hopefully it really is the chemistry plus expanded role that has Nurkic producing well above his established Denver mean, but the trade seems to be more then a lateral move.

Here's an 11 minute highlight reel of his playing in 2017 thus far. Lots of Blazer highlights, including the game against OKC.
