I think one of the issues is that people think that the mods will see every post and are always there to edit immediately. We (they) aren't.
I make a point of not editing posts, because I'm not assigned the Blazers board and don't want to be. So unless I see something incredibly obvious (someone reports it, or it's a link from a spammer), I tend to let the mods assigned to this page do something about it. And in a lot of cases, something happens, and IF it gets reported, people act as though the mods should be responding right away.
That's not realistic. We, like the everyone else, work during the day. But some people here work in front of a computer and can sneak more time into their day posting. Others don't work in front of a computer and really don't get the chance to access s2 (even via their phone).
Being a mod/global etc, doesn't mean we're can't get in heated discussions, or disagreements or "arguments" with other posters.
I think people wrongly assume that we're slanted towards one side over the other. We're not. But the people who report posts mostly tend to be the same people, who aren't necessarily being altruistic about the overall well being/enforcement of the rules of the forum.
