It will be interesting to see how many "experts" pick the Blazers tomorrow on ESPN.

I like being the underdog. I like starting off on the road.

Just me, lots more pressure to win those first two games for the home team.

At least more people think we have a chance to win the west than the Clippers

OK--I get why we win the NW states, and why Utah's on our side--but how the hell did we get the Alabama vote?

I bought one of those window markers before the playoffs started. My back window now reads rockets (with a line through it) and below it "spurs".

We've got this if we play blazer ball!

Underdog be damned!!!

Edit: nvm it's still oregon where the rain rules everything. Fk you rain, you can't dampen my excitement!

For some reason I know a lot of people from Oregon that go to Alabama. Maybe they're all voting? :dunno:

First predictions I've heard so far, listening to Mike and Mike in the morning and they picked San Antonio.

Greenberg picked San Antonio in 5.
Golic picked San Antonio in 6.

They were both extremely complimentary to our team, but they didn't give us any chance.

We shouldn't be given a chance by the experts. SA is a great team and should be favored to win the west so i'd be shocked if more then 2 in 20 pick us. I also like being the underdog, gives our team a chip on the shoulder and we play better when slighted it seems.

Yup. This team has played better with a chip on its shoulder all year.

To add to this, Mike & Mike both picked the Spurs in 5 and 6 respectively. Both said they LOVE what the Blazers have done, but this is a different animal.

I believe both Jalen and Bill Simmons said SA will beat us on ABC yesterday

Alaska and Alabama have our backs! Does Washington have a lot of blazer fans, like we have Seahawk fans?

~80% of Rockets fans believe SA will win, many predicting in 4 or 5 games.

haha bitter

So they are bitter because they are picking the #1 seed and the team with the best record in the NBA as well as a team that was a rebound away from winning the title last year over a young team that just won their first playoff series in 14 years with the worst bench in the league?

41% of all voters came from only 6 states? Amazing

Yes.

We got 41% but only a few states. Blazer fans are the most active on the internet. Bill Simmons throws in a Blazers remark when he needs a ratings boost.

The 1 voter in Alabama probably phoned his friend in Alaska and told him to vote.

Cowherd just picked the Spurs. Didn't say how many games. Listed our horrible defense and the Spurs experience as the reasons.

Both solid reasons, although one of those was the reason I picked Houston to beat us.

If i was betting, I would go with Spurs in 7 as well. No way we beat SA in a game 7, and to win in 6, we would have to win two on the road, which is possible, but i wouldnt bet on it

But i hope we can get it done

Holy crap regarding defense.

Cowherd just said we were the worst defensive team in the playoffs and it's not close, so I looked.

I went directly to points per game and came up with this.

Teams left in the playoffs

Portland was 112 ppg against in the playoffs. The next closest team to them was the Clips at 106. Most remaining teams are in the 90"s

That's such a stupid stat. PPG in the playoffs is largely determined by matchups. We are in the hundreds because we played the Rockets, who was also in the hundreds. Not to mention 3 games went into overtime.
