offseason moves

well we have some sort of idea who the nets want in the draft... and which direction they are heading in regards to the draft. so the question is what free agents, or what trades would we be looking at?

early in the playoffs we had rumors of melo coming to nj... now as much as id like that, id rather have a solid 4... not a great scoring 3... no knock on melo, i love his offensive game but what we (the nets) need is a low post threat.

elton brand would be the ideal choice but is it really attainable? would RJ, marcus, S&T krstic be enough? or do we even have to throw a pick at the clippers?

i kno people might hang me for this but what about antawn jamison? i know he isnt the youngest nor gettin younger... but i think he would be a good complement to what we have... and i dont think we would have to give up so much for him.

what about boris diaw from the suns? i heard the suns are willing to part with diaw and barbosa for picks... are they having some kind of fire sale? would you guys be willin to give up picks for those 2?

now on a side note... free agents id like to pursue besides a S&T brand, would be a josh smith from ATL... id give up just as much for josh in accordance to brand... i think josh has hugh upside and he is really startin to come into his own...
-also monte is a free agent but he will likely be locked up with GSW... then you have ben gordon and luol deng... both very solid and young...

Brand would be nice, but we'd have to give up some serious talent to get him. I think we should look at cheaper options for scoring bigs. Brad Miller, Sheed, Villanueva, Okur. Someone like that, who we would only need to move some contracts and lesser pieces for. We could either keep RJ after that, or move him for bench help, to Portland or something.

He'd be nice, but I don't know how we'd get him. a S&T with the Wizards seems the only way, and I doubt they'd want RJ with Butler, and otherwise we'd move expirings and pieces or Carter. we'd either need a three way or do a sign and trade with a random team under the cap that wants RJ.

I don't think portland would give up all that just for RJ and Miller is getting old and I don't think he'll solve our problems... he'll just add to them because that trade still won't make us contenders.
I'd rather have Jermaine O'neal than Brad Miller.

I agree in that we should aim for legit big men like okur etc... but i had more in mind of Millsap. I'd love to get josh smith from the OP, but Atlanta loves him and it'd take a lot to get him. I think we still need that 2 guard that can backup harris/carter and that can defend and shoot. Russel Westbrook seems to fill that need.

Im pretty sure Jamison is going to go back to the Wizards, and Arenas said he'd only go back if Jamison goes back. Jamison has said he'd like to return.

Maggette is definitely opting out. Brand possibly too. Don't think you can do 2 sign and trades at the same time. You would also have to send the expiring contracts of KVH and Swift to make that work. So we'd be reduced to filling the bench with the MLE and vet min players.
