Sign some under-the-radar FA's like: Dellavedova/Koufos/Joseph/Huertas
I dunno if Dellavedova counts as "under the radar" since he won the series for the Cavs and LeBron picked him out to praise. And Koufos is going to be a hot property, I think, because his defensive stats are amazing. I don't know that we can afford to have ANOTHER guard who can't defend, so Huertas should be out as well. Who's Joseph?
I like the idea of Brandan Wright, though.
Cory Joseph (UFA) - A pesky defender who rarely turns the ball over.
I believe in improvementI guess you don't believe much in the benefits of continuity?

Aaaaaaand, a NEW COACH.
No plan, all pipe dream. How about a plan to make that happen? Sounds like a pipe dream...
the Pels are already playing Evans on the bench as a SF.. Even as a SF off the bench here he'd play a PG type roll. Plus i think the Pels want more length and would love to have Batum as a pick n roll option with Davis. Covington had 74% of his spot up opportunities contested last year and still shot 38% from 3. He'd be a 40% shooter. That's fair market value for Wes, especially since you give him a player option after year one. Tyson Chandler is not more then a $9M to $10M a year guy. Watson may be worth more but if you don't get him you can use Tyreke and CJ as backup PGs.So you expect us to get a starter (whom you'll bench and play out of position) plus a first round pick for an underperforming player on an expiring contract, turn a pick three years in the future into two similar value picks from this year, and use cap space to sign players to below-market-value deals, but somehow end up $7M+ over the cap by the time we're done?
Fascinating.
Rozier would be a terrible fit next to CJ and relying on Upshaw would be risky.. Not really an upgrade from last year.. Probably a downgradeWell, first if we know we are Re-signing LA (5/109) and Wes (1/8.5), we should probably draft Upshaw first of all. Trade Kaman+cash for the 76ers 35th overall draft pick and take DePaula if he is there (which I doubt, so in that case Rozier instead)
Since we have the core all back might as well re-sign RoLo to something reasonable (3/24). Bring back Freeland (2/7) and Wright (vet min). Use the MLE on Aminu.
Dame / Rozier / Blake
Wes / CJ / Crabbe
Batum / Aminu
LA / Leonard / Wright
RoLo / Upshaw / Freeland
I'm not sure we can do this money wise but that lineup would be nice (when they'd finally get to play together by around new years).
Rozier can play D, slash and shoot. That's better than Blake. Fitting next to CJ isn't an issue because he likely won't be playing with him. Upshaw has length and can play D, he basically would be in Meyers role last season. This would be my rotation:Rozier would be a terrible fit next to CJ and relying on Upshaw would be risky.. In your scenario, I'd rather keep Kaman, draft Hollis Jefferson and sign CJ WatsonRozier can play D, slash and shoot. That's better than Blake. Fitting next to CJ isn't an issue because he likely won't be playing with him. Upshaw has length and can play D, he basically would be in Meyers role last season. This would be my rotation:

Wes (24) / CJ (24)
Batum (28) / Aminu (20)
LA (32) / Meyers (16)
RoLo (24) / Meyers (6) / Upshaw (8)
Blake, Crabbe, Wright and Freeland can chill most nights.
Let's say we re-sign LA and Wes. What then? I'm not sure Lopez comes back. I think Olshey has bigger plans. What's your ideal lineup next year?
if playing next to LMA makes those guys good, imagine how well a max center would play. Hickson is back to his old value now, he had one good year. So if LA makes average centers good, imagine what hell do for a great center. If LMA re-signs with the Blazers, and Rolo does not come back, I am not sold on the idea of bringing in a C on a max or near max contract, such as Hibbert, Monroe, or Jordan. I believe it would be a waste of cap space that would be used better to improve the bench.
Reason.
Take a look at the last two centers the Blazers signed, Rolo and JJ Hickson. Rolo was almost given away by his two former teams, JJ was given away. Rolo had his break out season in his 6th season, playing next to LMA. JJ had his break out season in his 5th season, playing next to LMA. Both players played important contributing roles for the Blazers, and both had their break out season playing next to LMA.
My point is, if LMA stays, we do not need a max type center. We just need a serviceable veteran center on a cheap contract.
I hope Rolo re-signs with the Blazers, if not; I believe signing a 5 year veteran, such as Kevin Seraphin, to a cheap contract will work again. It has worked well in the past for the Blazers. I believe Seraphin is ripe to have his break out season, his 6th season, if he signs with the right team, the same way JJ and Rolo did.
Seraphin is a very active player in the paint. He plays good paint D, and is much more mobile than Rolo. He can rebound almost as well as JJ, but does not put out he welcome to the paint mat for the other team the way JJ did.
Who's playing "low"?I think Leonard should get some starts at center next season. We could do some real damage with LA and him playing the high-low game.
LA, Meyers is a better Passer and shooter.Who's playing "low"?
I agree with the last part. But LMA isn't the sort of player who can establish low position, receive a pass, and flip the ball through the hoop. His "low" game consists of getting the ball about 18' away from the hoop, then trying to back down into the paint. Leonard/Monroe would provide a much better high/low game.LA, Meyers is a better Passer and shooter.
