Oh, That Was BS By Nic on the Three for the TripDub

Like when he blasted Navaro in the sac? Fucking hell of a great guy.

well, he did deserve that. And not just because he said Nic had bad BO

Well like I said I would love to see another player from another team do it to the Blazers just for the reaction because I think most of the fans would be singing a different tune. Say Kobe Bryant? Then again I think Kobe has more class than that.
Under the same circumstances with the same reaction, it wouldn't bother me one tiny little itty bitty bit. There was no rubbing in the face, or posturing, or 'take that bitches' or anything of the sort. He tossed the ball at the basket from 35 feet at the end of the game and it went in. Not a big fucking deal.

I think Batum realized he was wrong. Seems like a great guy and wouldn't purposely try to make an opponent look bad.
That's just it, isn't it? What he did didn't make the opponent look bad.

If they don't want him to shoot the ball, they should play defense until the game is over. They chose to walk off the court instead, so clearly they did not care and have nothing to bitch about if the guy shoots the ball. And clearly they didn't.

Has there been one single report of any Spurs players bitching about this? Even Pops excused Batum, saying 'he's a great kid' or something like that when the sports 'journalists' tried to make a big deal out of it.

It isn't a big deal. Except here, on S2. Oy vey.

Had he made a bee-line for the hoop, sure I could see why people would be upset. But he lofted a 35+ foot shot.

And fans are making a bigger deal out of this than it's worth.

Is there any response by San Antonio about that shot? If they didn't publicly say anything, I don't see how this would be a problem

On top of that, Gregg pretty much said "He's a good kid, we got our ass kicked. Who cares?" And Parker emphasized as much. I'll take their two words than anyone on a message board. lol.

It's funny you should say that. On the Spurs version of Bedge, the writers do not say anything about it being a cheap triple double, or call for his head.

Since you didn't read the thread AT ALL, Popp said he didn't care about the shot. He understands and Nic is a good kid.

Four pages of hand wringing on a Blazers board over something that had no influence on the outcome of the game, the Spurs said didn't bother them, and that Nic has apologized for...seems pretty typical for this place.

I don't really think it was a huge deal, but it was completely bush league.

Think about it this way fans.

Phoenix beat us 104-91 on opening night. Are any of you seriously going to sit there and type that you wouldn't have been pissed if one of the Suns players launched a shot in an attempt to get a triple double at the end of that game?

or if we were playing the Clippers and Ginger did it?

you people would be crying about how horrible it was.

Is someone going to post the video any time soon, for cry sakes?

I don't care what players or fans think of this . . . I just hope Nic doesn't take his foot off the accelerator

Good to know. Yeah, I didn't bother to read the entire thread cause I was at Universal that night.

AP said:
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said no offense ws taken. "Why would I be mad at that?" he asked. "He's a good kid. I don't care."

Check. Mate.

No, 'us people' wouldn't. At least I wouldn't, because contrary to your generalization. I don't give a fuck, you play until the buzzer/whistle sounds. If they walked off and the Suns launched it, its our fault for stopping play too soon.

So no it wasn't "bush league". It's sports and you play to score until the end buzzer sounds, case closed.

They were up 11, and Dragic got a layup with about 20 seconds left. I don't think anyone here said anything.
I guarantee I couldn't care less if we lost, and someone threw up a 35 footer to get a triple double. Who gives a shit.

So you're the 1 fan that loves when the Buc's attack the line of scrimmage when the other team is kneeling down instead of running up the score. Got it

Phoenix got the ball with 40 seconds to play. Dragic hit a lay up before the shot clock expired.

They also got the ball with 9 seconds to play, and ran the clock out with class. No one can convince me that people wouldn't have been calling him out in this forum had he ran that ball down and shot a 3 up 13

Be prepared. I don't see an issue with it. Is it against the rules?

Cool, don't really care about convincing you about it. I couldn't give a shit if someone did that exact same thing to us.

Not at all.

Completely classless though, and just another senseless reason for an injury to happen after the game is over for all intents and purposes.

Classless is only in your opinion. Is there a mercy rule in Football or Basketball?

And if everyone was prepared to play until the buzzer sounded, there would be no risk of injury. So that is irrelevant.

Also last time I checked hucking a 35 footer doesn't equal blasting across the O-Line on a kneel-down, but whatever, my points still stand.

How is it different?

So since every team is prepared the other 3 and 14/15 quarters in football, there are no injuries?

You were insinuating that the injury probability is higher because of the D-Line blasting through on a kneel down when the O-line is expecting a concede. Otherwise why did you bring it up when we were talking about basketball?

Yeah, I was crazy thinking fans would make this into a big deal.

A few Portland fans are making this into a big deal...and ironically not because Nic did it, but because fans would have a cow because another player (on another team) might potentially do the same thing.
