Ok. Going on record. Who's with me?

I would have said 50 wins before Martell went down. So: 48 wins, 2nd place in the NW, 7th overall. We will end up playing the Spurs in the first round of the playoff and get knocked out in 5 since we will win game 3 at home.

Further, I will say that we will be 28 and 13 at home, 20 and 21 on the road.

2nd in the division behind Utah. 48 wins.

Agreed. I think without injury we could get up to 54 or 55, but losing Webs hurt us and we'll have a few bumps and bruises along the way.

I have to declare my official prediction of where the Blazers will finish this season, before my opinion becomes obvious and non daring:

Blazers win the NW Division. On record. Anyone else willing to jump on board with me?
SLAM magazine predicted that as well

I know. I write for them. :)

No, really - like my Sig says.

WNN?

Why....Not....Now?
you're preaching to the choir. Prior to Greg going down last year (with very few others) I was predicting 50 wins. That they went 500 without him makes me feel like I was right. Add in Rudy and a year of experience for all the rest and 55 wins and a division title seems well within reason to me. This has been my best guess prediction a long time before this thread... but what do I know?

53 wins. 1st in division, 3rd seed, 2nd round in the playoff.

BTW-Tickets arrived today. The off season officially over.

Got our tickets today too. Nice little Blazers bag came with them. Much preferred the really nice leather case they came in last year.

Just wait till next year: one lucky fan will have their tickets come in the jaws of Andrew Bynum's voodoo-shrunken head!

As for my prediction... on the record...

52 wins, +11 over last year. Lots of home wins because of where they come in our season (31-10) and the ZOMG FANZ! factor; not as incredible on the road (21-20), but still acceptable.

We will be the second-best non-division winning team behind Utah, Lakers, Houston, and San Antonio (who won't win the division for the first time in a dog's age), placing us in 5th against SA.

We will win in the first round against an experienced but tired SA team. It will go 7 games, ending in a Rudy 3-pointer as he falls out of bounds, breaking one of the first curses place upon the team in modern times.

Eventually, we will face the Lakers in the WCF, and Brian Wheeler will become agitated with 9 minutes to go in Game 7, sputtering about how the Blazers are up by 15 and how he feels eerily that Nate will call a time out on a fast break. No timeout is called; Sergio lobs to Webster from halfcourt for a reverse dunk, and the Blazers go on to win the game by 19.

In our matchup against the Pistons, backup SF Darius Miles (acquired off waivers) will appear on the Rose Garden court in game 3, and spontaneously combust. The Blazers win the series in 5, sealing the promise made by the 1989-90 Blazers.

:sigh: I do mean it about the 52-30 record, though.

I wanted to wait till the start of the season....so BUMP.

1st in division

52 wins

4th seed

lose in semis, but a good showing

I'm in. I think we'll win the division. Not by much, but we'll win it.

See, you guys lose all credibility with me with predictions like this! You really think we are going to win more games then Utah?

I've been a blazer fan my whole life but I am also realist. How can you sit there and honestly think that?

I've been a Blazer fan for 3/4 of my life and I'm a Blazer delusionist. How can you NOT think that?

Personally, I think that things could get a little messy in Utah with so many players becoming free agents after the season. Include Kirilenko's bipolar-like play and attitude with a weak bench and possible injury concerns, I truly believe it's a possibility.

So let's see. You probably think we are going to win a lot of the first 24 games huh?

Just because I believe that we can beat out the Jazz in the long haul doesn't necessarily mean I think we'll go 18-6 to start off the season.

Do you honestly believe that we have no chance at beating out the Jazz by the end of the year?

None, zero, nada

I might be a Laker fan but Im also unbiased on the issue you are talking about :ghoti:

Meh. Either way, I think it's about time I go to bed. I have 140 pubescent weirdos I get to deal with tomorrow. Hooray for middle school!

Goodnight, all.

No. We are too young and inexperienced. Ask me again NEXT Halloween.
