One thing to remember: the Blazers of course tanked at the end of the season - so the total number of losses may seem amplified, but the Blazers were also surprisingly good at home during the early-middle part of the season. If the Blazers can click like they did last December and January, for even longer (even if it's only at home), Portland could be looking at a #5 or #6 seed. But that's a lot to ask. Crappy teams like New Orleans and Minnesota have gotten better, and even the good teams that appear to be backsliding (Denver, Lakers, Dallas, Jazz) haven't fully fallen into mediocrity.

Nate, Julius and I have different views on this subject. I personally have no problem with it and in fact think it's one of the nicer features of this forum. Forums like Oregonlive delete their old posts and in that forum when no one can ever call you on the BS you post it leads to more BS being posted.

Nate and Julius say it just leads to more "I told you so" arguments, while I see where they're coming from I don't see it as a huge problem and should be judged on a bump by bump basis.

That's not true. I think it's fun to look back on old threads, ideas and opinions. Where the problem happens is when someone uses a bump as a way to ridicule someone for a past opinion or idea they may have had.

I'm not sure what you want. You seem to have a lot of complaints about me, how I moderate and my explanations about why I moderate the way I do. Let me try and explain my thoughts on this a little more clearly.

If someone bumps an old thread and says, "Look how stupid ________ is, he wanted to trade Player X 2 years ago. Hahahaha, the idiot doesn't know anything about basketball." I would have a problem with that. IMO that is going to lead to insults and arguments and not basketball discussion.

The "I told you so" bump depends on the I told you so'ing. "I told you guys the Blazers were going to be good." Seems like a good bump. "I told you _______ is a fucking idiot and doesn't know what they're talking about." is not a good bump.

You know MM, it's not black and white. The mods don't get together and think of ways to pick on you. We try to keep this forum fun and feud free. We make mistakes but we try and learn from them.
