Ok this is going to sound horrible but I'm ready for the season to be over

It's sad that the original poster can't post his or her feelings without being ridiculed. This season has been tough on Blazer fans. We went into the year regarded as a team that could/should push the L*kers in the west, and now are hanging on to a thread hoping to win 2 in a row in the first round. The injuries this season have been horrific, and there is no one who should be made fun of for wanting the madness to end. It would be great if Portland pushed Phoenix to the brink, and amazing if they won. But does anyone truly think we have the horses, or better yet, the refs to get any further?

This season has reminded me of a sick dog that just wouldn't die. The dog keeps kicking, but you know it's suffering. You have resolved yourself to the fact that it is going to die at some point, and you ready yourself for it.

I do agree with this point. I for one apologize if my post came across as ridiculing the OP.. that was not my intent at all. I am all for people voicing their opinions, even if I dont agree.

This has nothing to do with your post, just quoting you to see who I am talking to, I believe that your team in your sig is by far the best one I have seen so far. Wish I would have gotten in on that, was a little busy at the time. Haven't seen all the teams, since it's not all on our board, but there's some really awful teams I have seen. At least yours seems to have good balance. Like the inside out of Bogut and Roy. An obvious upgrade would be at PF, and I think I'd personally start Mbah a Moute at SF instead of Chandler. Have Chandler be your primary scorer off the bench, and Luc as your defensive stopper.

I just don't get all the comparisons of losing a friend or a beloved pet, to watching basketball.
Regardless, why would you want the season to be over? I mean, if the Blazers had gotten swept, or had lost in 5 games, would you really feel better and think "Man, I'm glad that's over." ?

Sadly, I don't think the league ever made it past the draft. But thanks

What's really comical is that I skipped over the OP's dog reference, That was purely coincidental. I don't want the season to be over at all, but I can see how some people might be thinking that. With all that's happened, it's been rough this season.

I absolutely love watching the Blazers and I follow every tidbit including listening to 95.5 every day. I just feel like I'm being tortured by this season. We are not the better team in this series. Our best player is playing at 70%, our potential star center is sidelined for the year, our pf has a case of pussitis, and the coach is driving me crazy with his almost comical lack of emotion with the referees.

It's like having an old dog that can no longer run, can barely see you and no longer wants to chase the ball when you throw it. You don't want the dog to die but you know it's probably in the dogs best interest and yours for the dog to pass away.

If we somehow win tomorrow does anyone really, truly believe we'll win game 7? (don't lie, do you really believe?) I want nothing more than to win a playoff series but this year it's just not meant to be.

Then you are not a true Blazer fan.

I can't understand it though. Maybe some people just look at it differently, different types of fans, whatever. I think with as hard of a season as it has been, it leaves me even more wanting a good thing to come of it. Getting out of the 1st round somehow, after everything we've been through, even if we got pounded in the second, would at least feel like we achieved something after everything that happened. With all of the bad news, I would think you'd be hanging on for the slightest bit of good, as opposed to just bailing. I dunno. That's just me. We all look at things differently.

Yes, let's get the season over so the off-season bitching and moaning can begin!

It could be a simple case of ADD. Some people just need change, and see a fresh start as soon as the season is over. Some people probably view it like as soon as there is not a legitimate chance to win a title that they want next year to start because it gives them hope again. It's like Cubs fans holding up signs on opening day that read "Wait til next year"

Are you forgetting that we won 2 out of 3 games against the Suns in the regular season?

If Roy can be even 75% of his normal self, I think we've got a chance to win both Game 6 and Game 7. Are we the favorites? Definitely not. But anything can happen, and I've seen it happen before in sports. The series ain't over until it's over.

Can someone please tell me why there's such a huge gap above our posts when we quote someone? It's really annoying. Please fix this, moderators!!

It only happens to me at work. Pretty certain it is using IE, instead of Firefox which I use at home.

I only get a single line of spacing between the poster quoted and the answer... maybe it's your browser?

it happens for me at work too.. but its an old version of IE.. at home on firefox is fine.

The fuck with questioning people's fandom. I don't share the OP's view, but there's nothing he/she said makes me think he/she isn't a Blazers fan. As MM said above, the season has been tough. GO's injury had me down for awhile. Watching the Blazers a few weeks after GO went down, it wasn't the same anymore. I can definitely understand a Blazers fan wanting to see all this madness (the injuries, KP, etc.) ends.

Wow, ok maybe I deserved the abuse in this thread. I guess I let my frustration of losing 3 games 20 or more points. Honestly I do hope we win, I've been a fan for almost 33 years so please stop questioning my loyalty to the Blazers. I just don't have much confidence right now with Roy at about 70% and so many of our guys struggling with their shot. I'm just not sure we have the fire power to stay with Phoenix. If Roy were healthy and we had either Martel or Rudy playing better I would give us a much better chance in the next couple of games. Regardless as always I'll be rooting my ass off for a victory. Let the hate continue ;)

BTW thanks MM

no you didnt. differing viewpoints are just that.. differing viewpoints. Just like we dont know what is going through GO's head, and like we dont know what trades KP passed on... we dont know your situation or what is going through your head. No abuse was deserved.

They may have lost three games by 20 or more points, but they've also won two games by 1 or more points! Portland has 'em right where they want 'em.

Good times. Bad times. They come and go. Without one, the other is meaningless.

part of that would be not listening to 95.5 all day. Most of what they do is awkwardly try to stir shit up. It's not surprising that a regular listener would find themselves focused on perceived/imagined controversies with the club rather then the many good things.

here's hoping that Roy is moving better tonight :)

For the record, Canzano, yes CANZANO, has actually be fairly positive lately. I don't catch a lot of him, but from my recent experience he has only been negative about Rudy.

We need to win tonight. We can still pull this off.
