Honestly. Most everyone, including me, was calling for this guy's head earlier today. And then he scores 52?? Hilarious.
 
He did it with only 1 three and 7 free throws. That's mind boggling!
 
I didn't see many posters calling for his head. It was just a few, I think.

Point taken. But there were a couple threads in here that were negative towards Miller. And regardless of what you thought, did you see Miller scoring 50+ tonight? Let alone 15+?
 
That's the first time I can recall we made Dallas pay for playing Barea. Normally that twerp kills us with his speed, but Miller kept posting him until Carlisle cried uncle.

Good observation. Why didn't Miller post up Brooks last night and make him pay for burning us with his speed?

Dre had five 20+ point games in January, without counting tonight's 50+. He also had 2-3 19 point games. He also had 2-3 other games where he scored over 15. Why the hell would I doubt that he could put up 15+ tonight?

Speak for yourself. Many of us were excited about picking him up. We thought he was a huge upgrade at the point position. His stellar play comes as no surprise to many of us.

52 points is more than I thought however. I thought he would only hit 50 tonight.

That's a really good question, and why was he sooo bad the last three games, when we needed some extra scoring with Roy out? I get the feeling that despite his attitude that nothing affects him; this is a guy who needs a lot of encouragement and even guidance. I read that Nate in this game specifically decided to post him up. Maybe he needs Nate to tell him "we need a ton of points from you tonight, Andre, go get "em".

I don't know that he needs encouragement and guidance. I think he'd do better with the faith, and all that does with it, that should be given to one of the team's five best players. That is--consistent role, starting/finishing games and consistent (high) minutes.

I think being jerked around is making him less consistent.

I understand playing it by ear with your bench guys. Your starters (especially the ones who are clearly the best at their position) shouldn't be constantly benched in order to play hunches/feelings.

No, most everyonewas NOT calling for his head. Two or three posters who seem to have incredibly short attentions spans may have been calling for his head, but no, not "most everyone".

Most posters here know that two or three bad games (including one with 10 assists) don't erase the 18/8 he'd averaged over the previous 11 games. All-in-all, even before tonight's 52-point outburst, Andre Miller was having a pretty good January.

That was amazing to watch. For a guy who is nowhere near the most athletic or fastest player, he has so many different moves and creativity with his scoring.

Well, I think we agree; he needs to know that his coach really believes in him.

Miller played out of his mind tonight. I certainly didn't see it coming. I still don't think he's that good though.
