Olshey after Whiteside?

I've always been confused by the statements like this.

"The Trail Blazers is offering".

Why isn't the correct way to write that "The Trail Blazers ARE offering"?

Saying "is", makes it sound like it's improper english, "They IS who we say they is"
Watch a Jazz or Heat TV broadcast and it will drive you crazy! They say the Jazz/Heat IS all game long!

File this with the Boogie rumors. Why on earth would Miami do it? The point of Whiteside is to be their rebuilding block. The only reason to make him available is if he's a total headcase, otherwise there's no reason for Miami to trade a top 5 YOUNG center.

With this crazy rumor being reported, I'm surprised I haven't seen more of the even crazier rumor that we're trading for Jimmy Butler.

Fansided is what bleacherreport used to be - an unpaid vanity publishing site for fanboy wannabees. It has zero credibility. Articles there are no more valid than random trade proposals in this forum, and usually even more poorly researched.

In other words, made up bullshit by some random nobody. I read an article on fansided yesterday where the author claimed Aminu was having a career year. It had so many errors, I didn't bother posting a link.

Hey, don't you know we live in a post truth reality now?

"I’m sorry, Jeannie, your answer was correct, but Kevin shouted his incorrect answer over yours, so he gets the points.”

Arguable that he panicked this summer when he paid ET minutes after getting rejected by Parsons.

Arguable but not founded. Neil "Contingency Plans" Olshey always has a plan B, C. People may not like the results but his targets are always well researched.

Who does Neil think he dealing with he dealing with Pat Riley is not stupid enough to give his best player to anyone right now. Especially someone anchor his defense and get players that not very good defender except Harkless I dont see this happening.
Riley wants C.J.

Whiteside is a controllable headcase. He'd be terrible to build around, he wouldn't be controlled. It'd be worse than Sac and Boogie.

We don't really have anything they will want. They have enough role players as it is.

Monroe trade is real though.

Olshey likes him
Bucks want to trade him
His minutes went from ~30 per game down to ~10.

Chance it's not us, but I'd say it definitely seems like the Bucks found someone to trade for Monroe.

i dont want to lose harkless. he's one of those guys that shows potential AND growth, while myle has been living on potential for years.

I'm ready to lose Crabbe...this much I know...I don't think it'll happen though...
yup. im over crabbe and leonard. sure, i hope they shut me up. but if they were traded im perfectly fine with it. if we did get a dominant center id still hope we could keep plumlee for the bench as his assists and handles would be sorely missed in certain situations. i think people sleep on just how much he helps dame and CJ. he does a lot of distributing from the top of the key. too bad he doesnt have a jumper or i think he would be an offensive juggernaut without people being able to sag off.

If we got a good C who could contribute on both ends of the floor I think Plumlee could be good at PF. That's the thing with all of our bigs - none of them are good enough to play alongside each other, but all/most could be fine next to a good, two-way player.

Wait, what? You don't think Allen Crabbe would be an upgrade over Dion Waiters?

Oh wait, never mind. Waiters sucks, but he's having a better season than Crabbe at less than 1/6th the cost.

Hawes
Hibbert
Parsons
Crabbe
Turner.......all very questionable.

I think Plumlee's shot can improve if he keeps practicing. I don't think he's hit his ceiling.

And very realistic.

Realistically bad. I get that it was about all he could do at some points but the better thing to do was to spend time, effort and money elsewhere. Thank goodness some of those offers were matched or they chose elsewhere. Too bad no one could match with Crabbe/Turner. In fact, Turner was shocked with the offer he got. Didn't think he'd get near that kind of cash.

You would have to include those last two. My list removes them and adds Hedo. I prefer to think that anyone who turns us down is cursed and doomed to fail.

In past years, the guys we landed played well and earned their money (Brian Grant, Andre Miller and even Aminu and Davis last year), but now the curse seems to be spreading to guys who actually choose us.

I think somebody needs to sacrifice a chicken, or something.
