Olshey on Lakers GM List?

Why would Paul even give them permission to talk to him.

First Jeannie dumps Phil. Then a month later she dumps her brother and takes up with Magic. She likes the 6 foot 9 guys, if you know what I mean. I expect Magic to last about as long as he lasted as coach.

What started this was Jerry Buss' power-sharing model. All teams should follow it. The owner puts his dental experience to work. He makes his daughter a power, his son a power, the nephews and nieces a power, Fluffy the Dachsund a power, then hires a neophyte straight out of his playing days, Kupchak, who was not known as a smarter than average player. Then he lets the bigmouth coach, Jackson, run rampant over the introverted West who got the superstars he has. After West leaves, the whole retarded Los Angeles media decides that it's Buss' genius which got those stars, as the team slowly dies from inattention.

Similarly, I saw the Sonics slowly die after Wally Walker replaced Bob Whitsitt. When a team improves, no one praises the coach or GM, they just say that the guy managing it all doesn't matter, it's the stars who matter. After Buss died the Laker media woke up, but a decade late. Kobe saw what was happening about 2008 was it, when we read that he wouldn't mind being traded if the team wouldn't bring in talent. The media covered it as, he's throwing a hissy fit. I thought, he's right, but don't tell Los Angeles.

Maybe if Neil goes away, he'll take Aminu with him for Randle.

I like Neil. Hes a great drafter.

But if we can get picks for him from a shit LA team, you do it

I think that tweet is more referring to Magic making trade calls....

Neil would love to be in LA more than LA would love to have Neil.
I'd guess Neil's wife might love to be there more than Neil...she actually had a career as a actress...Neil really didn't make it in showbiz

If only...There are better candidates for that job...There are better candidates for this job.

Not likely high on Lakers list.

Neil would love to be in LA more than LA would love to have Neil.

I think both McGowan and Olshey would trade a gig with the Lakers over this one any day.

Part of Neil's problem in this market and has been since day one is his belief in it and the ability FOR HIMSELF to attract big name free agents. He wouldn't suffer from that same syndrome in LA.

Yes. Far more hits than misses.

2010 Aminu ahead of Heyward and George, so miss

2011 no pick. Traded to Cleveland. 2nd round Trey Tompkins ahead of Chandler Parsons, so miss

The Portland years

2012 Lillard was a previous regime and PA pick. Olshey has said this. So Leonar_. Huge miss. Will Barton, hit.

2013 CJ, hit.

2014 no pick

2015 no pick

2016 incomplete, but miss so far

So.....ya

No no. You're good.

Don't go abandoning the board over little old me.

Well that Drama didn't last long.

wow guys I can't believe Olshey is a GM for the Lakers now and Dame is being traded for Kawhi leonard that's crazy

Rob Pelinka has been named the new general manger of the Los Angeles Lakers

Sam Amick on the A to Z podcast said one of the worst kept secrets in NBA circles is Olshey's desire to go back to LA in some way.

He'll prolly replace Doc I'm guessing. I just want compensation.
