Matthews, Batum and Rolo were "let go" by the Blazers, and could have been signed to remain here. They were not even asked to stay. They're only gone because of Aldridge.

OTOH, Steve Blake showed his loyalty, once again, by exercising his option, and then was shown, the door once again.

What we need is a Steve Blake Appreciation night.

Not just to you Sinoba's, but to many people who seem to be... "whatever...."

Let's not have short term memory syndrome. This core gave us a couple of solid years of winning and having fun and putting us back on the media map. Then the Blazers didn't even offer anything to a couple of them.

The Blazers have been about class from top to bottom and the absolutely classy thing would be to show a bit of appreciation for what they gave us the last few years. It was a solid core that gave it their all (most of it for most of them anyhow).
Yeah, I might join in on the Lamarsha stuff, but he is soft. Doesn't mean he wasn't part of a team that most of us loved and rooted for at one point.
I hope the fans in attendance when this happens feel the same and give an applause of appreciation.

Also, what kind of message would that send to our next developing core if we didn't?....

I say ease up a bit and a moment of homage is not going out of the way at all.

We have all already moved on I think with this hot start, but it doesn't mean you can turn and say thank you for the past.

I think it would be nice if Mason would announce Matthews like he did as a blazer, let the crowd giving him an ovation, and maybe play a little video of him on the jumbotron. I just think doing anything more ceremonial than that would be cheesy.

As far as the rest of them: I liked Lopez because of how goofy he is, but he was sort of a "meh" player who was only here 2 years. And Batum, we wasted a lot of time and money on him. And he didn't commit to us, because he played every summer overseas. Look how he was just drifting around in the playoffs. No reason to honor him. He was a nice guy, I like him personally but glad he's gone.

And LaMarcus....he'd get no cheer from me what so ever. He was a "me first" player who was worried about getting his shots and his stats through the least amount of effort. We had to play Hickson at Center even though LA is 6-11 270, because LA has no heart for interior play.

It's so nice to have an active, athletic front court.

I'm over the whole LaMarcus thing. The relationship was going nowhere. It was like knowing that the person you are with is not "the one", but hating the idea of searching for someone else. In the end the only thing that really made you mad is that you didn't break up with the other person first. I'm done being pissed at him. All break up cliches apply here.

Olshey also mentioned the old PDX carpet in his press conference. Maybe he's going to send a roll to each player.

We should try and make this happen, bring LMA out before the game and give him a roll of PDX carpeting. Fans would cheer for the carpeting but LMA would think it's for him. Good times!
