1. Mentions that the 29th defensive rating wasn't a result of the roster. (Thanks Terry!)

2. Then thinks the bench needs defensive oriented players (Who brought Melo back? Who traded for Kanter?) Is this not a result of the roster?

3. Knows Jones didn't work out as expected, which is why they got Powell. Who signed Jones? Was that also not the a fault of the roster?

Am I alone in thinking he was spot-on that this roster underachieved, especially defensively? And that we had a ton of pieces to have more depth in the playoffs than the 7 man rotation Stotts was using. Keeping Jones/Little parked on the bench while our lineups got destroyed on the boards while getting carved up defensively was infuriating.

I think he's just as much to blame as Terry. A lot of what he said about the roster and the defensive rating contradict his statement that the roster wasn't the problem. Or maybe he just thought we should have been 20th instead of 29th. In that case he's still an idiot.

Why did no one ask him why he never signed another center that can actually defend the rim? Kanter was a huge reason why our defense was so garbage, particularly because Nurk was injured this season. Well who the fuck decided to trade for Kanter and then not sign a backup option?

the Melo kanter signings were obviously his fault. And it’s even worse when you think about the defensive scheme they originally wanted to run.

yeah I don’t have a problem with how olshey answers questions. He gets a little chippy when people ask him dumb questions, but I don’t blame him. My bigger issue is that he still seems married to CJ and put almost all the blame on Stotts.

I think Kidd is terrified of being the coach of a team led by Dame....the culture here isn't about..."spill my drink" or disrespecting women. Kidd can be himself in a big city like LA but in Portland he'd be under the microscope and in the end...there are just too many strip clubs here for him to stay clear...word around the street is he's a heavy drinker

Exactly this. Everything exposed in that series has been present since 17-18.

I think Terry was actually a decent coach when he was first hired. The game just changed so much in his time here and passed him by and he never adjusted.
