Olshey should get the biggest praise

I think I agree with you. I've been pushing the "3rd quarter" narrative for the last couple weeks, because I think Stotts deserves COY talk. Effective 2nd half adjustments are, IMO, a huge indicator of great coaching. Stotts deserves big ups for our performance so far this season.

He and Tibbets are my co MVP's

Freeland looks like a completely different player this year, and I'm loving it.

I agree with you. Which made it disappointing to see that he wasn't able to out-coach Mo last night. Sure, we got the win - but it wasn't because of great coaching.

Did you watch the game? the adjustments the Blazers made on the defensive end of the floor in 4th quarter were amazing.

I did. I don't recall them. I expected changes at the beginning of the 3rd, and there weren't any. What did we do differently in the 4th?

The changes were there at the beginning of the third as well, but didn't really start working until late.

Portland's defense pushed the offense to left in the second half. They also funneled players to spots where their shooting % is lower. A lot like teams have done with Lillard this year. Most teams are funneling him into the lane, where he shoots like shit.

the Pistons announcers said similar things during the telecast. As shots started to be missed, fans should realize how good the adjustments were at forcing the Pistons where they didn't want to be

I think they did start to double Smith as well, towards the end.

This thread should appear when we beat a top team, not on a night when we are lucky to get out of Detroit alive.

Like I alluded to this morning, winning in Detroit will end up being a quality win before this season is over. I think Indiana fans will agree. That front line is freaking tough. Out rebounding the Pacers on the road, after a OT game the night before..... by 15

Last night's comeback looks even better after tonight. Detroit gives Indy first home loss of the year. It was no fluke either. They went blow for blow in a really physical game. I'm glad we don't have to play the Pistons anymore. They are definitely improved and will probably get better.
