On podcast, Evan Turner said Olshey wanted us to lose games at some point and Turner laughed remembering that in order to tank, “we posted up Meyers Leonard five times in a row.” I wonder what season he is referring to. We went to playoffs for every season with Turner.

probably 2016-17

Blazers were 24-35; they were 11 games under .500 with 23 games left. But they went 17-6 the rest of the way and finished 41-41. Dame & CJ were both hot to close the season and that was the Nurkic Fever stretch. In Nurk's 8th game as a Blazer he had 28 points, 20 rebounds, 8 assists, 6 blocks, and 2 steals

Blazers ended up with the 15th pick in the draft and I'm sure Olshey would have liked it to be higher since he apparently was all-in on Zach Collins that year. That was when he traded the 15th pick + 20th pick (from Denver in Nurkic trade) for 10th pick and used it on Collins. That was a pretty disastrous draft for Olshey; wasting a lottery pick would have made it worse
