Classic Dame troll. You revel in this dude. Enjoy while you can Raspy.
I stand by it. I wouldn't retweet garbage like that. Plus you do hammer Dame when has has a rare down game. You do revel in it. Way more than you get up for his MANY awesome performances.

there's just a void in leadership on this team. Dame is seemingly too hesitant to take the reins.

the best part of the game was hearing the NBA on NBC theme again.

I haven't watched the game yet, but one report said Durant & Outta da bayou were running the offense, and Dame was off ball most of the 1st. They said Dame looked uncomfortable without the ball in his hand to captain the offense. They also said when he did lead the offense he played better in the 2nd qtr. He was 3 0f 10, 3 0f 9 from 3. Most on the team shot poor with the exception of Levine, who was 3 of 6. Holiday lead the scoring but didn't shoot well either. I just think they're still felling each other out. But moving Dame out of the PG role doesn't make sense. C'mon Pop. I'm not seeing any chemistry between Durant and Dame at all. Durant can be a petulant child at times. I'm wondering if it's gonna work on this team.

I have not watched this game, but I heard France was doing all the could to blitz Dame and take the ball out of his hands, Kinds of sounds like teams defense against the Blazers. Someone other then Dame is going to beat us. For those that have watched this game, is that true?

Pop has had a great career. You could be right on those two players. Pop loves his guys. I know this, Dame has mad respect for Pops. He will do his all to see their team succeed. I look for Dame to be less passive going forward. Move outta the way Moe Fo's.

I still think this is the least talented Team USA in decades. By a pretty wide margin.
Yes, there is less talent at the rear end of roster. But let's face it, most of the best frontcourt players are Euro's now. Durant is a twig, and as good as offensive talent as there is, but he's not a great defender in the post. His size limits him. And i don't think he's a leader at all. Dame must assert his leadership abilities. If Durant cries, he cries.

The biggest misconception that people have of Dame is that he can't be a true PG (whatever that means). Dame is the best P&R player in the game and needs the ball in his hands to be effective. A P&R with Durant should be deadly but they hardly ever run it. You just see DHOs with Dame/Draymond or Dame shooting threes off the break without running any action. The offense doesn't make sense when the guys don't have the chemistry to run something so structured. It's what leads to plays like Dame passing up an open shot with his team trailing with 45 seconds left. He's trying to make the play the offense asks for instead of just using his intuition.

One of the things I will admit to cause some issues is lack of a defensive 3. Teams are just zoning up the middle of the key and it's clogging lanes for Dame, so he's settling for more jumpers. This is true for guys like Lavine too.

They need to figure this out. In the past, Team USA has been dominant defensively and gotten out in transition to compensate for any lack of cohesion on offense. This team sucks defensively.

But even this "least talented Team USA in decades" should be the best team in the Olympics/in the world. Of course the other teams are getting better and have several NBA players but they still should win the gold medal (I mean I would even argue that you can lose a game against a team like France but still in the end there is no excuse to not win gold).

Well it shows you, you can't always trust reports. I didn't see Dame look uncomfortable at all. He played good team basketball. He did miss two wide open 3's, but it was a good 1st qtr. for the USA. What the heck happens the rest of the way.

the sum is less than its parts when you dont play as a team.
that 16-2 run at the end was something else tho.

well done to the Frogs!

He's mostly just swinging the ball around the perimeter and he's not creating as much as he can. The spacing is really poor with the lane clogged up. They need more cutting and off ball movement, but guys look out of sync.

Lack of size in frontcourt is definitely a problem going forward vs. bigger teams. We look tiny vs. Gobert and that Falls dude.

Good 1st half. Shooting was not good in 2nd half, so we will see if it was France's D, or just missed shots.

I've notice Dame missing more FT's than usual. Does anyone know if that Kooky looking ball is different with it's seams, or is it just a coloration thing.

Looking at the ball closer online, it does seem(no pun intended), to have extra seams. Maybe it's just adjusting to ball, but the feel has to be a little different. I could be wrong.

Rebounding, both ends, a huge problem for this team.

I think the bigger issue is the lack of time together. It is liking watching a team who just traded for new players at the trade deadline.
Jrue took more shots than anyone and he has been on the team for a couple of days. Booker was 1-6.

They had no chemistry in Las Vegas and then got better. Now they added 3 new guys. It will take a few games to get it back.
I questioned Pop but you can't coach players if they are not there.

I don't think the seams are the issue. The international ball is made of a rubberized material instead of leather. It's kind of stickier and it has a little more bounce. The way they feel is a lot like a multi surface ball... if you've ever played with one of those.

They all play a bit rushed on offense and like everyone has said no one is particularly assertive. They've got to slow down just a little and all of them have to start looking for theirs instead of acting like their on the team from "Hoosiers" and aren't allowed to shoot until they've passed it four times.

Thanks for telling me. I grew up in PDX playing in the rain. Those outdoor balls were decent for that, but on a sunny day, i hated the feel. The leather ball is best. The bounce you talk about, doesn't allow for shooters touch as much. So it can have an effect.

That unsportsman foul is Stupid. Dumb rule. You could clearly see Dame was trying to regain his footing.

Dame passed everything down the stretch. He had a ton of open looks. Some of the passes got other guys open shots that they didn't make and one was a turnover on a quick pass when Dame was wide open. That last slip wasn't Dame's fault, that shit happens; it doesn't happen often but it happens. Also he didn't mean to trip that guy up, it was a legit call by international standards but not Dame's fault.

The fact is the team completely choked this game away. I know the personnel Team USA has and the guys that France has and our guys should be driving on them constantly. With the superior athletes we could get to the hoop despite the fact that Gobert is just sitting there or get a bunch of fouls by really making contact happen. I guess it all comes down to the team is not aggressive at all.

While Dame didn't shoot well, he had a decent game. His passing was spot on, but teammates bricked 5 shots off his passes. He did have two turnovers in the 4th, one on a pass that Goober deflected, and the slip and fall. But when you only take 3 shots in 4th, hard to get into a rhythm . But he didn't "Kinda Suck".

Yes but that has always been the case for our team and we compensated by having absurdly talented teams.

in the past we have been able to roll out starting lineups of

Kobe
Wade
LeBron
Durant
Howard

Back when they were all in their prime. This team can’t even touch that level of talent.
